Family History

I've been putting off family history for a long time now. It's official. I made a user name and login for the http://www.new.familysearch.org/ website. Now I just need to figure out what I'm doing. I took a genealogy class at BYU- I should have kept up with it. 10 years worth of technology since then- it's a whole new world! Feeling very clueless.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar

Luke telling Heimlick (the caterpillar from "A Bug's Life") the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar, by Eric Carle, during nap time.

Halloween Prep

This year we are doing the Wizard of Oz theme. This is going to be Jake- the lion

Trying on his spider costum from last year
Where and when did we get all these trick or treat baskets! I think we could give out baskets instead of candy this year!
Cade the spider
Giraffe at the watering hole. :)

Unloading the decoration boxes Get this costume off of me!
Lucy from Narnia- costume from 2 years ago

Uh, Cade- that costume is a 2T
Jake's not a fan of the horse costume either.

scary skeleton
Luke as Obi Wan the Obi (as he calls Obi Wan Kenobi)

After FHE last night -Cass gave a lesson on the Holy "Ghost" :) - We got out all our Halloween decorations. The kids had a ball. Warren and I were having fun playing dress up with Jake. Luke cried his eyes out last night when we didn't go trick or treating. He's been asking me all morning when we get to go. This is going to be a long month!!

31 Years

Happy Anniversary, Mimi and Pops! We sure love you!!

Saying Goodbye

Jake, watching the Dad leave for work in the morning.

Sneaky

The other night I thought Luke had FINALLY gone to bed. Then I hear some rustling in the bathroom. He had quite the gathering of toys and was playing by the light of the nightlight-having a marvelous time. He wasn't very happy I crashed his party. What a goose.

Hips

I'm having a good hip day. Minimal pain. Hopefully, I'm going to see some results from all this rest and physical therapy soon.

Elder Holland

I just stumbled across this old talk by Elder Holland. It's from the November 2005 Ensign. It's addressed to the YW of the church- but I think it's a wonderful one for all women. This is just a tiny slice of his wonderful words.
"I want you to be proud you are a woman. I want you to feel the reality of what that means, to know who you truly are. You are literally a spirit daughter of heavenly parents with a divine nature and an eternal destiny. 1 That surpassing truth should be fixed deep in your soul and be fundamental to every decision you make as you grow into mature womanhood. There could never be a greater authentication of your dignity, your worth, your privileges, and your promise. Your Father in Heaven knows your name and knows your circumstance. He hears your prayers. He knows your hopes and dreams, including your fears and frustrations. And He knows what you can become through faith in Him."

Mexican Jumping Beans

Warren always comes home from his trips with the fun stuff.

The Village

Since our family outing turned out to be a dud, we needed some more excitement. Cade suggested going to "The Village" playhouses. So we did. The kids had a fun time playing in the maze with Warren.

Balloon "Festival"

I guess this can't be classified as a balloon "race" since the balloons didn't even leave the ground this year. It was so pathetic. I'm very glad we didn't pay money this year to go up to the fair grounds just to see them blown up with air and then deflated. I want to take the kids to Albuquerque or Reno and show them the good stuff.

Enjoying the fall temps

We've had rain for about 2 weeks straight. I love the rain- but I'm not sure if my hair can take this saturating humidity for much longer. :) It was a great afternoon to let the boys play outside since the rain had stopped and it was in the 70's (YAY!). This is the first time I've let Jake venture out on his own without me holding him or watching him from a few feet away. He had the time of his life exploring the backyard.
