Time Flies

One Year Ago
Present
Bad picture quality-it was scanned. He's so big already, but so much fun. It's amazing how much joy he brings to our lives.

29 Weeks/7 Mos Pregnant

Man, this pregnancy is moving along so quick! The first trimester seemed a little worse than with Westin, but the rest has been great. A couple of annoying colds, but other than that I've felt pretty good. It's been nice. Jade makes really big movements, less often. Westin moved more often, smaller movements. I'm starting to get anxious. I'm looking forward to the labor and delivery (yes, really), seeing the look on Wes's face when she arrives, and Westin's reaction too. I know Wes will instantly be smitten with her as he was with Westin, and I think Westin will think it's pretty cool too. We shall see!!!

Saying Goodbye

I felt like being dramatic with the headline. I loved these little Teva's for Westin and the weather is getting cold, so they are about to get put away for good!

This is a picture of Westin in May with his shaggy hair. We said goodbye to it a while ago, but it was so cute!
This picture has nothing to do with goodbyes, but reminds me of a picture that would be found in those old Dick and Jane books.

RANDOM MEMORY
This summer one evening after Wes had taken Westin to the pool, he said, "You know your kid is cute when big muscle men at the pool are saying so." It made me laugh and then last night we were at a car dealership and Wes pointed out that the sales guys were actually gushing over Westin. It made me think of his summer comment and I laughed again. Yeah, we just can't get enough of our little guy and the big guys making comments about his cuteness!

Superman with GG and Papa Wayne

Westin was Superman this year-one of the few costumes that didn't have something that goes on the head. He was still cute. Of course he could be dressed in a paper bag and he'd still be cute as ever to me and Wes. GG and Papa Wayne were with us for the weekend. It was fun to have them in the house. Westin enjoyed it too. He just gets so excited when there are more people in the house, and especially more family to give him extra attention and love.

Westin, GG, and cousin Aidan. It's not easy taking a picture with these 2.
Westin and Papa Wayne
I love the facial expressions of GG and Westin in this pic.

Our little Superman and our pumpkins. Turns out Wes can really carve a pumpkin. He did the two that look awesome! Go figure-what can he not do?

Pumpkin Patch-Twice!

Westin got to go twice this year to the pumpkin patch. He went to Bishop's Pumpkin Farm with Dad and Mom and with Mom and some friends. He had a great time both times. He loves being outside and seeing the tractors and animals and dirt! He really is your typical boy.
Westin loved the hay ride to the pumpkin patch and was standing up and even walking around at one point. We stopped that though, I think it was against the rules.
This picture shows how much weight i've gained, but Westin looks pretty cute.

Westin with Dad, impatient with the picture taking.
Loving the goats...
and the trucks, and filling them with dirt.
Fascinated with a tractor driving by.
Cute man.
I think another tractor is driving by.
No more pictures, please!
Running to the tractor for the hay ride.
Checking out the under side of things. Whatever.

Grandma Visit

Grandma Kanooth came to visit a couple weeks ago. It was great! Westin loved spending time with her and so did Wes and I. Thanks, Mom! We miss you still.

Am I Not Suppose To Be In Here?

If you double click on this one, you can see a glimpse of how excited he was to be soaking himself.

Last week I was trying to get a coupon off the computer, while I listened to him play in the hall. I heard him go into the bathroom, which is usually not a problem. He usually just tries to get in the tub to play with the squeegee. Then I heard the water running. He was very quiet though, which of course means he is loving whatever he is doing. This is what I found. I just let him play for a few minutes and soak himself. He loves water and was having so much fun! He really makes us laugh sometimes.

CA State Fair

Not the best pictures, but you get the idea. He likes animals...especially the one whose shoulders he is sitting on! Hee, hee, hee! I crack myself up.

Name For THE GIRL

Boy, Oh Boy, I'm Going to Have a What???

I'm going to have a little SISTER!!!
Wes and I were expecting a boy. Back at the 11 week ultrasound, the doctor said she thought it was a boy. Of course that early, things can change, but we still were thinking that she might be right. Then, I had a dream about having a boy, like I did with Westin. THEN, I had a dream that we went back and the doctor checked again and said, "Oh, it went back in. We have a girl!" At this point I was thinking, "Ok, whatever, my dreams aren't helping me any this time. Unless they mean we are going to get a Hermaphrodite. Man, that would be...I'm not even going to think about that." So, we went in thinking we'd probably be having a boy and it turned out the opposite. We are really happy to be having a girl! A boy would have been great too, especially since we love our first so much, but it will be nice to have one of each.

Westin's Summer

We have seen lots of changes in our little man. Just when we think he can't get anymore fun, he does! Westin is about 30 inches tall and 22 lbs. He is a little guy on the charts, but doesn't seem to hold him back. This summer we've seen his dancing skills improve quite a bit. It's really fun to watch him start to wiggle when a song comes on that he likes. He loves to climb and often when he gets to the top of his destination he will clap or wiggle a bit. He makes it very obvious that he is proud of himself. He gives kisses by grabbing your face and planting one right on your lips, but he will not do this on demand. It's usually out of the blue, when you least expect it. Hugs are a little more frequent. He likes to show you that he can throw garbage away. He is able to find the trash can anywhere-the airport, a friend's new house, Grandma and Grandpa's. Just give him your garbage and he will get it where it belongs. He knows what comes next in the songs we sing him and he says a handful of words. This morning he pointed to some blue eggs on the cover of his "Colors" book and said, "blue!" It sounded more like, "boo," but that's close enough. He also says: kitty, car, tree, mama, mom, dada, dad, this, that, bird, clock, hi, bye, yeah, boom...and a few other infrequent ones, and probably some that I'm forgetting. We've not done so well blogging this summer, so here a few pics we missed:

Time with GG and Papa Wayne.

The deWitts came to visit and Westin love all the attention and fun he got from the ladies!

We hiked Multnomah Falls in OR, with Dad/Grandpa Kanooth, Andrea, Kaitlyn, Ally, Leif, and Rachel.

Lake Tahoe for the day. It's nice that it's so close, but next time we go I'll have to not be pregnant. Winding roads...no good can come of that, and it didn't! When we were out of the car it was nice.

Washington/Depoe Bay, OR Trip (Lots of Pics)

It all start with the prep. Westin trying on his shades and beach hat. They didn't last very long. He doesn't like things on his head or face.

This is after our 1hr and 1/2 flight to Portland, this was our first plane ride where Westin was mobile. Notice both of the concerned faces thinking, "I'm glad to be off that plane."

We had a chance before going to the beach to stop by Grandpa/Great G-Pa Kanooth. Westin loved roaming around and eating a ton of blueberry along with the rest of us. We all paid the price later. (Come on Leif & Rachel you know what I'm talking about)

Fun times at the beach with cousins.

We had a great time celebrating Steven, Steve and Becky's Birthdays

We had awesome sunsets

More beach fun with all the gang.

And the always fun family picture (Thanks to Tom & Jeannie for a wonderful week)
