Halloween

Presenting the princess, and for the THIRD year in a row, the Sheriff.  I can't believe this costume has kept him happy 3 years in a row!  Some moms might find that boring to dress your child in the same costume for three years.  I find it low maintenance and love it.  Besides he looks so cute in it!  I am just as happy about the princess.  It's hard to beat using dress up clothes for a costume.  I will be a little sad as they grow older and become less content with Mom's boring side, but I'll try to think outside the box when the time comes.  We did go buy several costumes, after Halloween, for dress up and next year, half off.  So, next Halloween should be easy too.

It was fun watching them run door to door.  I am looking forward to meeting our third, but have to say that we will miss this stage in our family.  Westin and Jade are both busy, but at 2 and 4, they do so much on their own, and are still young enough to enjoy being squeezed.  It may be the perfect ages.

Bishop's Pumpkin Farm

We took our yearly visit to the pumpkin farm.  Saw the animals, ran around in the pumpkin patch, played on the playgrounds, and took the hay ride.  We forgot, or intentionally tried to leave without the kids realizing that we skipped the train.  I think Westin mentioned it to Wes, but I heard no complaints.  Ignore Westin's camo pants...he wants to be a hunter, besides police man, and scientist.  It was a good time.  Nothing better than running around outside for these two.

Potty Training

Jade reached a milestone last week.  She is no longer terrified of the potty!  I don't know where the horror of the toilet originated, but it was serious until last week.  We just didn't push her.  I was ok with not even attempting it until it was close to the arrival of the new baby, and she was for sure over her toilet phobia.  There seemed to be a window one day where she was talking about it, I offered her the chance to try it, casually, and she actually gave in this time.  She has done GREAT!  She intiates it most of the time, has had only a couple accidents, and requests a diaper for pooping, but I won't be pushing that one either.  After pushing with Westin two months after he turned two, and causing myself a difficult journey, I realized it is far better to leave the pressure behind.  This time around has been so much easier.  Within reason, age is not that important, willingness is, pressure makes things worse...that's what I get from my lessons in potty training.

When Traveling is Easy

On our way back from southern Cal.  It's so nice when they are both happy in the car.  We enjoy it when we can, because it does not last long, hence why we normally travel in the middle of the night.  Being dead tired the next day is worth it when the kids are sleeping soundly the majority of the time.
