All Carson wants for Christmas is Jordan's 2 front teeth??

Funniest story this Christmas! So Jordan is passing out his presents to all of his siblings. He proceeds to give Carson a sports bag. I'm thinking to myself "I don't remember him wrapping anything in this bag for Carson. Carson opens the bag; a gingerbread house (with no candy on it), a clay mud house with grass and rocks on top (made by JJ in his grade 2 class while studying the pioneers) and . . . a little metal tin that sounded like it has money in it. Carson opens the tin and sees a bunch of spare change (about $1.25 in coins) and then "Oh gross!" - Jordan's 2 front teeth (his bottom two teeth because he hasn't lost his top two yet). Jordan had kept his 2 front teeth and put them in this tin with some money. Merry Christmas Carson! Jordan burst out laughing and so did we. "I got you good Carson. I knew all you wanted for Christmas was my two front teeth! Ha Ha Ha!" "Oh by the way - keep the change you filthy animal!" laughs Jordan!

Jordan you crack us all up. We all laughed until we cried! Where does this kid come up with these things??!!

Sadie always gives us a good reaction when she opens a present she really wants. A bed for her American Girl Doll. She didn't think Santa was going to bring her anything on her list because she came to me 5 days before Christmas and asked me to mail her list to Santa. I told her it was too late and that it would never make it to the North Pole in time. Good thing Mortimer (our family elf that calls us every Christmas season) told Santa what she wanted!

All Jordan wanted for Christmas was a Ukulele just like Carson's. Carson got a new tenor Ukulele and so Jordan assumed he would get the old one. "No way" Carson says!

During church that afternoon the bartering started. Jordan sidles up to his big brother and says "Carson, I'll give you 40 bucks for your Ukulele". Carson says, "I'll think about it." Jordan thinks about it and whispers, "The deal is only good until the closing prayer. Then the offer goes down to $20."

"Ok deal" says Carson. Jordan turns to Darcy and gives him a thumbs up.

Kailey is our cupcake queen. She got an array of cupcake making stuff so our New Year diets will be ruined right from the start!

My mom and Kailey on Christmas morning.

Jordan's favorite present (from Carson), a Cavalier shirt from Carson's school. Carson worked hard for the principal to earn this shirt for his brother. Jordan wore it night and day all week until I stripped it off of him to wash it 6 days after he opened it.

Xbox 360 was the present that got Carson excited about this Christmas.

It was nice to go to Church on Christmas Day and enjoy beautiful music and messages about our Saviour.

Merry Christmas!

Christmas Activities

We started off this Christmas season being treated to a night at the Banff Springs Hotel for the whole family by Darcy's company. There were parties for the kids, the teens, and of course the adults. The next morning we had an amazing brunch and the snow was falling making it feel very Christmasy! The kids were amazed at this gingerbread house replica of the Banff Springs.

We spent Christmas Eve at Grandma and Grandpa Weston's house. We were treated again by having Great Grandma Weston with us. She is turning 90 next year and still plays the piano so well. This is where much of the music talent in the Weston family comes from. We always love to listen to her play and the kids enjoyed singing Christmas songs with her.

We had fun playing different minute to win it games. Sadie and Jordan tried really hard to stack the pop cans on the table carrying them with just a spaghetti noodle which kept breaking on them.
Reggie and Carson had to break a balloon stuffed in Reggie's shirt (no hands allowed). We all had a good laugh watching them bounce off of each other.
Then Jordan and Bo had a try at the same challenge. They thought this was so fun!
Kailey had to roll a Christmas ornament by waving a box like a mad woman. Way to much work for not much pleasure.

Oh how cute! Darcy and his brother Jeff must have phoned each other to decide what to wear to the family gathering as they both showed up in the EXACT same pair of jeans and Nike golf shirts.
They competed to see who could wiggle a cookie from their forehead to their mouths first. I think Darcy won but we found out that they both have that famous Weston tongue which comes in handy when trying to fetch a cookie from your cheek to your mouth.
Grandpa Weston won the whole thing with his incredible balance and steady hands stacking dice on a popsicle stick in his mouth. Way to go Grandpa!

Merry Christmas 2011

Rather than writing a Christmas letter this year I decided that if people are really interested in our lives they can check out our blog. All of our major events throughout the year are posted here. I always feel like the Christmas letters say the same thing every year (but the kids are a year older).
In case you don't want to read the whole blog here are a few highlights of the year:

Carson (now 14 almost 15) changed schools. He is going to St. Joan of Arc (a Catholic school) close to our house. He is absolutely loving it and enjoys playing all the school sports with amazing coaches. They won the city championship in Volleyball this year and are hoping to do the same in Basketball. He is also playing community basketball and trying to keep up with his grades. His last victory was a 90% on his chemistry final (which is a rare occurrence for him). He was so excited he had to text all of his friends and of course the facebook status reflected his mark right away!

Kailey (turning 13 this Christmas) is such a sweet girl to have around. She is busy playing community basketball as well as school basketball. I am coaching her school basketball team and we are both looking forward to our season in the New Year. She is an excellent student and is still in French Immersion. It always blows me away that she does all of her schooling in French. Needless to say I can't help her with any of it and she still carries over a 90% average.

Sadie (9 almost 10) continues to dance her little heart out. We took a family trip to Disneyland in May where her dance troupe performed at Disneyland, California Adventure, and Universal Studios. She insisted that we all had to come and watch her dance since she sits through so many basketball games. (OK if you insist, to Disneyland it is!) She also just finished their Christmas performance - The Little Mermaid Production. Super cute and she had so much fun getting ready for it.

Jordan (7) makes the world go round in this house. He is a whirlwind of activity. His latest craze is skateboarding and he skates the half pipe with no problems. He was sad when the skateboard park shut down for the winter but he is kept busy playing basketball with his team every week. All he wants for Christmas this year is a Ukelele (like his brothers). No toys, just a Ukelele! What a kid!

Darcy keeps himself busy playing lots of squash and of course golfing during that season. He is coaching Carson, Kailey, and Jordan's community basketball teams this year so he runs from practice to practice to games all week long. He is an excellent coach and his teams are doing really well! The kids really enjoy him as a coach even when he is hard on them (sometimes the ride home from a not so good game is a long one for our kids because they hear all about what the team did not do right).

I keep busy being a mom of 4 active kids. I really thought once the kids all went to school that I would be able to get some of the things done that I wanted to do. Not so! I'm busier than ever and still can't figure out how that is. I love watching my kids in all of their activities and it is fun to have 2 teenagers in the house.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and hope you enjoy the spirit of Christmas with your family.

Love,
The Weston Family

City Champions!

Exciting weekend for the Cavaliers! Both the Boys and the Girls team won the volleyball City Championship! "Party at my house for both teams!" Carson yells after they won!

A little hitting actions from Carson!

I loved this picture. Wake up Diego! It's time to win the Cities! GO DIEGO GO!

A fist from Mr. McFarland (the principal) as he says "Ok Carson, we will keep you! You don't have to go back to Springbank!" He had told Carson before the game that if he didn't win the cities tonight they were going to ship him back to Springbank school. Its a big joke between Mr. McFarland and Carson.

Way to go CAVS! It was a fun night watching them work as a team to pull off the win and then the night really got started with a party at our house for both teams. Great memories!

My sister wanted some decorating ideas for the party she is doing at the church so I thought I would post some of our past halloween pictures to give her some ideas.

Same Game Different Jersey

So Carson has switched schools this year and is attending the Catholic school around the corner from our house - St. Joan of Arc. He mainly switched schools to play volleyball and basketball for their teams, not to mention they have great academics as well. He was so pumped when volleyball tryouts started the first week of school and by the end of the week the team was playing their first tournament.

They call themselves the Cavs (short for Cavaliers) and boy does this school have team spirit!

Not to mention some fancy shoes!
A few action shots.

The coach is loving Carson's vertical (not to mention his hitting arm).

This school has so much team spirit for a middle school (actually K-9). They even have their own mascot. Carson got to be the mascot during the girls tournament. He says if he wasn't an athlete he would love to be a full time mascot. What a riot he had goofing off and making everybody laugh and nobody knew who he was.
The boys successfully won their own school Tournament this last weekend and they played some amazing volleyball.

Defying Gravity

Enough Said!
So much of our fun at the cabin seems to entail trying to fight gravity but boy it sure is fun!

Not Bad for an old man Justin.

JJ Running on water.
He also jumped off the biggest cliff this year. I can't believe he did it.

Carson and Camille getting some air!

Chair jumping kept us entertained for an afternoon.

And if you can't defy gravity by yourself then you just ask for a little help from Grandpa.
