My cute grandson Jacob had his first band concert a few weeks back. He didn't want his Mom to take any photos of him so she had to sneak one in. He is the one sitting down next to the girl in the black shirt and white skirt. Just his hair is showing. It's the best she could do. He did a great job and we are very proud of him! Good job Jakie!

Starting again after three years
A lot of things have happened in the last 3 years, both good and bad. These will have to be written as I go but for now I will just relate things going on in the present.
We had our home in Bastrop, Texas burn to the ground destroying everything. We only had 10 to 15 minutes to get out

HAPPY 15TH BIRTHDAY TO JESSICA
I have other pictures of Jessica but am having trouble loading them on. I will try again later. However, this picture of her shows her smiling face at our home last Thanksgiving. I am looking like I am completely relaxed which I was just enjoying being with her and finding out how her life was going. We love you Jessica and wish you many more happy birthdays.

Lots of September Birthdays (Rachel)
BABY BRIGHAM IS HERE
We are so happy that Lacey was able to go full term with this baby and he is such a healthy baby. She had a hard time with Abby being premature and so this is a wonderful blessing. We can't wait to see the little guy in person and will be looking forward to his blessing.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MELANIE
She can still cut a mean rug
Happiness is with the ones we love
24th of July PicnicBefore Melanie was born we were living in Littleton, Colorado. We had moved back there from Winter Park, Florida as we had such a pleasant time when we lived there previously. However, this time was different. We had 7 operations on our sons in two and a half months and it was very stressful.
Believing I was pregnant I acquired the name of a gynecologist in Denver who, according to the Americal Medical Society, was well rated. Upon my first exam I was told I was not expecting. Not satisfied with that after having 4 previous children I returned again and this time was told I was not pregnant but was going to have a nervous breakdown. About this time we were moving to Salt Lake City and I asked him if he shouldn't do a rabbit test or something. Again I was turned down.
We found a home in Bountiful, Utah and I made another appointment to see a doctor. This doctor gave me the good news, "Nothing wrong with you except you are 4 months pregnant" The doctor in Denver had given me thalmilamide (sp) which caused severe birth defects in children. At this time I was not aware of that but after taking one or two pills I had an overwhelming feeling to not take them and I flushed them down the toilet. This is the only prescription that I have done that to.
Melanie was born 4 months later, one month early. Thereafter I laughingly called her my nervous breakdown. Indeed she has been a blessing in our lives and I am very thankful I heeded the spirit and did not endanger her physical body. She has grown into a beautiful, talented woman who is well loved. Happy Birthday Melanie and many more.

Congratulations to David
For years our son David worked for Jim Clayton at Clayton Modular Homes. He made good money and worked hard to do it. However, he was not appreciated by Jim Clayton and on several occasions was treated very shabbily. However, good things happen to those who wait and he was hired by another company who believes in motivating their employees with monetary means and showing appreciation. Under this atmosphere David has blossomed and his many talents have now come to the forefront. In fact he had 15% of the company employees working for him and generated 47% of the company revenue. I hope I got that percentage right. If not, please correct me David. Anyway, David and Jennifer just returned from a 2 week vacation with their family which included a business conference in Vail, Colorado where David was honored by being named the Regional Mgr. of the year. (2009) I am very happy for him and glad he is finally being shown the appreciation he deserves and the salary to show it.I am very proud of our other children and their accomplishments and will feature each of them and what they have excelled in at a later post. Each of them have done very well with their lives.
