Swing Time

Kevin has been wanting to get Jenna a swing for a long time. I think, since October. The stores finally have swings in stock again (seasonal item). I guess they don't think about little girls who want to swing in October! I was thinking a swing would be a good birthday gift, but when a girl needs a swing, she NEEDS a swing! Swinging can't wait.

Anyway, we went on a family trip to the store and got Jenna a swing on Sunday. Kevin attached it to our tree in the back yard. She loves it! What a big girl!

Sweet Suite

Sweet Peas
My Sweet Valentines
Our Sweet Suite! Jenna and I were able to go with Kevin to a music conference last week. We had a room at a really nice hotel thanks to Kevin's dad's hotel points. Then when we got there they said that we were upgraded to a suite! We had fun taking pictures of Jenna in each room.
The living room/kitchen area.

Half bath

I've never been in a hotel room that was really 3 rooms and that had 2 bathrooms. Also, each room area had a balcony to the outside. It was fun.

I have to tell a funny story on myself. Kevin sent me up to the room with our luggage, Jenna, and the bellboy so he could park the car and not have to pay for valet. Try to imagine some confusion as we try to get our luggage out and put onto a cart quickly and manage Jenna. In the midst of the hecticity, he sent me off on my own and he handed me some money and said, "Here, give him some of this." I didn't hear the "some" part of the sentence. Nor did I count how many "ones" he handed me. So, we got to the room, the man unloaded all our stuff into the room, and I gave him ALL the money that Kevin handed me.

Kevin finally arrives in the room. It's around 6:30 and we are starving. We head out to eat. At the table, Kevin asks, "So, how much money did you give the guy?" I say, "What do you mean, you said give him this. So, I gave him all of it."

We can laugh about this now. We figure it must have been between 10 to 15 dollars. We did have 2 suitcases, Jenna's bed, a stroller, a briefcase, a hanging bag, and 2 jackets, but in the end I think we gave too much. Must have made the guy's day!

That's How I Roll

Can't walk. Can't run. Crawling is overrated. I roll. It's fun to get around on the floor by rolling. It always feels like I'm going downhill. Dada recorded me rolling around today. See "That's How I Roll" video.

On the Move

Jenna loves to get out onto the wood floor and roll and roll and roll. This was Saturday and the furthest she had ventured from her play area on the carpet.

Out the other direction from the living room. She got a little stuck in the door frame.
Mobility - what fun!
This was yesterday, the furthest venture yet. Around the corner, behind the couch, headed toward the back door. She's so proud!
Another new accomplishment - first finger foods. She tried some peach/mango puffs yesterday. She also tried strawberries for the first time this week. Soon, we'll have to try yogurt so Papa and Mima can make her one of their famous strawberry banana smooties.Getting better with the sippy cup. It's been a slow go - several weeks. She's still working on it without the valve and still prefers to turn it sideways and rub the sippy part against her gums. But, she's getting more consistent with the correct form and occasionally gets a mouth full.
