Is 2010 a good year?
Time flies... 1/6 of the 2010 is almost gone... and I haven't achieve anything!! This includes training for my 21km run. Damn!!
From the start of 2010 till now, I've heard few mishaps from friends, colleagues and relatives. So, is year 2010 a good year? Not a good start for many, I think. Nonetheless, not all having a bad time.. There are wonderful things happening around me too.
Hmmm.. I shall start with the unfortunate events that happened to people around me then...
I had this breakfast chat with SR. Last year was a good year for her. She was happily engaged and held her wedding dinner in the last quarter. However, things start to change after the countdown. Her husband decided to leave her and eventually asked her to void their marriage. On top of that, she just had a miscarriage. So, the past 1.5 months was like hell to her. Double blow..
As her friend, there's so little I could do. The only comfort that I could give her is a pair of listening ears and shoulders to cry/lean on.
Another friend secretly told me that she had just signed on the paper, lawfully separated from her husband. So called her ex-husband now. Though we may think that divorce is not a good thing, it may help someone to live on with a happier life. Her status is different but she seems happier. Seems like she made the right choice. As such, I'm feel happy for her.
As for the good news, I only have 1 to share.
I'm overjoyed when my friend, HS, told me she is attached. Thats not all. She elaborated saying that the guy (or should I say 'the man') that she is seeing treats her real well. Though they may be together for only slightly more than a month, I could see that she is more cheery than before. For the past 1 year, she had been working hard. I feel that a kind soul like her should at least get some credits from her boss. However, her hard work was never paid off because of some 'beautiful lass'. Hai~
Anyway, she found her new love. Hope that she will stay happy with this guy.
So, is 2010 still a good year?
