THE LETTER GAME

I thought that this might be fun to play. All you have to do is make a list of ten of your favorite things. But there is a little catch. Everything on the list has to start with a specific letter of the Alphabet. That letter is randomly assigned by the blogger who you are playing with! I was assigned the letter 'D' by my sister Melissa at rowdyrobertsons.blogspot.com

So in true 'D'ave Letterman format, here goes the letter D!

10. DOUGH. You can't beat dough. I love all types, especially my Dad's and Adrianne's bread dough. I'm the official dough tester. If you've got choc. chip cookie dough, sugar cookie dough, snickerdoodle dough, or plain old pie dough, then bring it on.

09. DOLLARS. Most of you probably thought this would be higher on my list. Of course, I need money. Dollars are awesome for groceries, new houses, car payments, Wal-Mart toys, dates, and movies. And as much as I need and use dollars, I'd live in a cardboard box and dine at the soup kitchen as long as it was with my three boys :)

08. DEER HUNT. Who doesn't love the cold mornings with the sound of the fire crackling as you play games with family and wait for the mighty hunters to return. It gets even better when you bring caramel corn, homemade Oreos, and a fiesty game of Farkle.

07. DER STUKA. I know. You're all asking what in the heck is Der Stuka. Well, it's just the wickidest ride ever at Wet 'N Wild. My dad convinced me to go once, and that's all it took to get hooked. You sit down, cross your arms over your chest, try to breathe, and in a matter of seconds get the biggest wedgie of your life. I just can't resisit...he, he, he

06. DIAMONDS. What girl doesn't love diamonds? Okay, I really love anything that sparkles.

05. DANCE. I'll admit it. I LOVE to dance. I dance in the kitchen, in the shower, and in the car. I love to dance with Dustin, my boys, or by myself. Dancing makes you feel good, especially when nobody's watching :)
04. DAD, DEANN, aDri, DAD IN-LAW. You get the picture. What would we do without our parents. They have that unconditional love that you can only understand after you become a parent yourself.

03. DAYS....and no, not Days of Our Lives. Just days. Each and every new day that my Heavenly Father allows me to live and enjoy.

02. DNA. It's the best word to describe my boys, Jase & Jaxon. They are part of me. They are the reason I breathe. They are my answered prayer, and there is not a day that goes by without a prayer of gratitude for my little miracles.

01. DUSTIN. You guys all probably guessed my number one, but who wouldn't. He ROCKS!

SUGAR, SUGAR

It's been an awesome day. We've enjoyed a long-awaited visit with my sister Crystal, soaked in the awesome floats at the Storybook Parade, and had some delicious enchiladas with the wonderful White family. So I thought to myself, "Why not make this day even better with a homemade banana cream pie?" I made some crust from scratch, sprinkled it with sugar, and baked it perfectly. I whipped up some filling and cut two ripe bananas and placed it in the refrigerator.

And then another thought jumped into my head, " Why not make homemade whip cream? I can't ruin this pie with plain ol' cool whip!" I ran to the refrigerator and grabbed the whipping cream, added some vanilla, and rounded me up some powdered sugar for an even sweeter taste. My excitement must have jumped out of my hands because before I knew it, I had thrown the canister of powdered sugar toward the floor and all over Crystal White. You can take a look at the mess for yourself. For some reason when you are the thrower of the sugar, you don't get as messy as the catcher of the sugar. Sorry, Crystal! The pie did turn out divine, though :) Well, there I go again, looking at the bright side of things. It makes for a better, happier life....pass it on.

FRUSTRATION!

So I could start out with venting or spilling my guts or cyber screaming, but I'm already feeling better just typing. A million thoughts are racing through my head, and I am searching for where to start. I've prayed. I've been to the temple. I've talked with sisters and best friends. And now I find that the things flowing from my head to my fingers are getting interrupted at the heart. I've heard that the best place to loose yourself (when in frustration) is in gratitude or service. Perhaps that is where I'll start....gratitude.

I'm thankful for family. I cannot fathom my life without my husband. Many of you know that he is my rock and my one true love. I am grateful for my miracle boys. They are solid testimony that the Lord answers prayers. I am in awe at my mom and dad and the unconditional love they have for their family. They not only speak of their love, they offer it in actions. And I am eternally grateful for my brothers and sisters. Even across the distance, they are my best friends and my confidants.

I remember one time in high school I was struggling with something that seemed disastrous at the time. Melissa wrote me this letter that made me giggle and cry and beam with confidence. Only a sister could do that. And when I smell Chinese food, I remember the times my little brothers would come to the Hong Kong for breakfast after I worked a night shift. At 5:30 in the morning, Nils and Russell trotted into the Milford cafe with pajamas and smiles, ready for their ham and cheese omelet. They didn't have to wake up that early on a Saturday morning, but they wanted to....only a brother :)

I can't forget to be grateful for my gorgeous house. It has felt like home from the moment we unpacked our things. I am thankful for a husband who works hard everyday to support his family. I will never forget the long hours of starting a business only to watch Dustin leave for another 8 hour shift to supplement our income. I hope my own children learn the value of hard work. I am also grateful for friends. Not the fair-weathered type, but the friends that know who you are, love you anyway, and still stop by to see you when you're kids are naughty and your house is disgustingly dirty.

Above all, I am thankful for Jesus Christ and his gospel. I hope that anyone that knows me or knows of me, will know that I believe in Jesus Christ and love his gospel. I hope they can see this through my actions, through my countenance. If not, I'll try harder....

Wow! I'm already feeling better. Now just an hour on the elipitical and a good book (thanks, Crystal White), and I'll be frustration free.

DON'T HATE ME

Well, I guess you can hate me if you want, but I'm going private. The deadline for all Wild Whitt blog follower requests is December 1, 2008. Don't be shy...you know you still want to read about the Lawn Ranger's woman. So leave your email, and I'll add you. Until next time, this is Lynette signing off!

THE WILD WHITTS

Hooray! Family pictures are finished and marked off the "Things to Do" list. I'm pretty much in love w/ the photography. Our photographer (a friend of a friend) posted these on his site last Thursday, and I have left his site up all weekend just staring at my handsome boys. If you want to check them out, visit www.justbowenstudio.blogspot.com
I've also been debating the whole private blog thing lately. I was reading a "NieNie" blog, and they were saying she had never gone private because she refused to live in fear. I'm all about being courageous, but what about being smart. There has been some buzz about taking your kids photos and posting them on other sites, and the fraud issues with all the personal information available to any viewer. So now my mind is spinning with scenerios where someone walks up to my kid and gains his confidence with all the personal information he's read from my blog.....Ahhhhhh! And I've been torn about posting pictures of the new house. I know inquiring minds want to know, but I don't want my floor plan advertised to every burglar in the Utah vicinity :( So I may be opening a can of worms, but what's your take?
Wow! There you have it....family pictures and blog security. Who knew the subjects could mesh so well? Until another hot topic in the blogging world, this is Lynette signing off.

A HIDDEN LOVE AFFAIR

Much to the dismay of Disney, I'm going to pen the true, untold love story of Captain Hook and Princess Tiger Lily. Actually, I better not. This is a G-rated blog :) Just thought you might enjoy another Halloween picture. My Grandpa Swede wanted to know what Pocahantas was doing with Captain Hook :) Everytime I explained to someone that I was Tiger Lily, they were like, "Who?" Is there anybody who remembers Princess Tiger Lily on Peter Pan? I mean, who can forget the song, "What Makes the Red Man Red?"

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

THE PETER PAN FAMILY :)

CAPTAIN HOOK AND A LOST BOY

PETER PAN

I figure it's time for another blog when I'm catching up with other blogger friends, and I find my blog link at the bottom showing that I posted a week ago. I'm such a blog slacker! Anyway, Halloween was good times with the Wild Whitts. Jase wanted to be Peter Pan, so I fashioned our costumes after the Disney movie. Jase was so excited to spray his hair an orange color, just like Peter Pan. He even told me that if he climbed up high and jumped down, he could fly! I quickly explained that couldn't happen...at least, not without pixie dust :) We made a candy haul in Milford and probably gave everyone a good laugh. I love Halloween, but I love dressing up even more.

BRYLEN JEAN

Here she is...the newest member of Melissa and Brian's little family. Brylen Jean was born October 21 at 8:02 am, weighing in at a whopping 7 lbs and 15 oz. She was 20 1/2 inches with dark hair and looking just like her big sister Neeley. Dustin and I got to drive up and see the little princess. If baby security wasn't so tight at the hospital, I probably would have ran away with her. But I would have also suffered the wrath of Brian...those girls have their daddy wrapped around their fingers :) Anyway, we'll get more pictures posted as soon as possible. By the way, mommy Melissa is doing great. I would have posted a picture of her, but I didn't want to have to post another awful picture of me in labor as an apology :)

PICTURE TAG

So here's my 4th picture from the 4th folder of my pictures file...and just in time for Halloween. The Wild Whitts were the Toy Story characters, and I was more like Little Ho Peep :) Or at least that's what my mother called me. This year we've opted for the Peter Pan family, and although I would look hot as Tinkerbell, I'm going to be the more conservative Princess Tiger Lily. Anyway, play along if you life. Post your 4th picture from your 4th folder in your picture files.

ARE WE EVEN?

Here you go, Crystal. I'm posting a labor picture of myself, and I have removed what you called the "Donkey Kong" picture. I thought your comments were pee-my-pants hilarious and had to read them again (out loud) to Dustin. So I tried to repay your kindness with an Ode to Crystal. I guess your blog of fame pictures weren't to your liking. I'll do better next time....I promise :) Until then, this is Lynette signing off...

WANTED, CRYSTAL DAHL SCHOFIELD

Have you seen this person....Brown hair, blue-green eyes, beautiful smile. Crystal Schofield is wanted for telephone avoidance, blog stalking, and excessive silly commenting. If found, please return her and her family to Cedar City, Utah, where her sister is going crazy without her.

Okay, so mostly she's wanted for excessive, silly commenting. I was blog stalking my own blog when I noticed 16 comments. I thought, "What a popular blogger I am!" I couldn't contain my excitement at all of these friends. Then (before even checking the comments) I thought more rationally, "I bet one of my smart a!@# sisters left 16 comments about me getting off my lazy butt and writing a new blog." Sure enough, it was little sister Crystal. After reading the hilarious, witty, and charming comments, I figured she deserved her very own personal blog article. You gotta love sisters :) And just for you Crystal, I have blogged about five times today.

ZION PONDEROSA

Yup, this was a while ago too, but I couldn't leave out such an awesome adventure at the Zion Ponderosa with the White Family. We were suppose to move into the house Saturday before Labor Day. When that didn't happen, I decided we needed a little vacation to relax and enjoy the fleeting summer. I made a last minute call to the Ponderosa and reserved one of their last two cabins. When we mentioned it to Jairus, the White's made a last minute call and reserved the last cabin. Can I just say we had a total blast. I didn't get enough pictures of all the fun stuff, so if you want the full experience visit www.crissandjair.blogspot.com
Let's just say the Ponderosa knows how to take care of their guests. They feed you every meal, boast a two-tier swimming pool w/ 2 rock slides, have numerous ATV trails, and a rocking kid camp. That's right....they take your kid for a half day or full day. They feed your kid. They let your kid do any and every activity they want. And they give the parent one awesome, relaxing, whine-free day (which I took full advantage of w/ a swedish massage).
So here's to next summer at the Zion Ponderosa. Mark your calendars because the more, the merrier :)

A COUPLE ELDER WHITTAKERS

During our 8 years in Cedar, we have rarely lived in a place where we couldn't walk to church. Our new address in no exception, and Dustin had told Jase that they could even ride their bikes. Well, for those of you who know Jase, you'll agree when I say, HE NEVER FORGETS! So on this certain Sunday (even though we were late) he insisted on riding his bike. He told me to just drive Jaxon to church. He was riding his bike with daddy, and they would be right behind me. They did just that. When I got home, I raced to get the camera. They looked so handsome (and missionary-like) on their bikes. Of course, Jaxon enjoyed the wagon ride while I snapped a few priceless moments.

STAIRS, STAIRS, STAIRS

If I haven't mentioned it before, I really LOVE my house! I don't think there is anything about our new home that I don't absolutely LOVE! But if my boys were to pick a favorite, it would be the stairs and the catwalk. Other than the playroom, they spend most of their time playing on the stairs and throwing things through the banister, off the catwalk. It's pretty cute, especially with Jax. He usually brings one large lego block from his bedroom, throws it down, smiles at me, then goes for another block. Anyway, I just thought these pics of the boys were handsome and fun...ENJOY!

1ST DAY OF SCHOOL

On the way to school.

Just before school started.

Ready for some learning w/ Mrs. Mia :)

Yeah, the first day of school was a while ago, but better late than never. Jase was so excited for his first day at Creative Kids Pre School. His teacher, Mrs. Mia, is awesome. He goes two days a week for two hours and is always coming home with the cutest project. We've been working on his alphabet letters, so he wanted to write a letter to his counsins. In one of them, he told me to say..."I want to go to Preschool so bad, but it's not today. It's tomorrow when the sun is up." I'm thinking I better revel in him loving school because by junior high, he'll be trying to skip class :)

HOT TUB FUN

Okay, so as soon as I download my gazillion pictures of the boys and the house and the yard, I will do some major posting. But for today, Nat (http://www.ludletters.blogspot.com/) sent me super cute pictures of the boys hanging out in their hot tub. Jase was so excited to get in the big jacuzzi w/ Uncle Spencer. I had forgot to bring Jaxon's swimsuit, but somehow he made it in to the tub with just a diaper. He just giggles and giggles when he splashes. How did I get such cute boys and such awesome friends and family!?

STILL HERE :)

Okay, so I've been caught by Officer Ludlow...and I mean Natalie Ludlow, blogger police chief. Yes, we're moved in to our beautiful home, and I do have Internet access. So, of course, I've been blog stalking. I would have been bloggin' on my own page, but I can't seem to find my camera cord in this jumbled mess of a move. There are good intentions on that camera like the first day of preschool, new house pictures, and a weekend getaway to Zion Ponderosa. I'm sure I'll find it soon enough, but for now you get an ever whitty, charming, picture-free blog from the Lawn Ranger's Woman. I know, kinda lame-o!

But I would feel really ungrateful today (sounds like testimony meeting) if I didn't shout it to the rooftops that I love my family, I love my gorgeous home, and I love my walk-in shower :) And one thing I know for sure, it all came from my Heavenly Father. You might laugh, but that walk-in shower is the pure love of God ;) Okay, so in all seriousness, I am one grateful woman ready to throw one grateful party. You're all invited!

OUR JAYBIRD

I just couldn't help myself. I had to post another blog as I usually blog in threes :) Anyway, here's our little Jaybird. He spent the night with his cousin Blake and now insists that his name is Jase Ray Barnes, not Jase Dustin Whittaker. He's so excited for Pre-School as is his mother. He gets 2 hours of fun and learning, and I get 2 hours of mom time (provided Jaxon is having a nap)...hooray for school.

MASTER BATH

And just for good measure, here's another house post. The tile work in our master bath turned out wonderful. I love to go in there just to look at the mosaic or walk in the shower. Jaxon also loves to go in the shower because when he talks, it echoes. He played in there the whole time I vacuumed the floors. I'm looking forward to using these awesome amenities, installed by Cedar Plumbing (the best plumber in the world), at Hotel Whittaker.

STAIRS

Our stairs have been done for a while, and I keep telling everyone (especially Shelby) that I will post pictures soon. Well, here it is...our very own stairway to heaven. It's not stained yet, but I'm already in love with the whole stair railing :) Dustin is so cute. When we saw it finished for the first time he said he couldn't wait to see one of his daughter's come down the stairs all ready for a big date (like Prom). Of course, we don't have any daughters, but maybe some day :) For now, we will just be praying our crazy boys don't repel off the banister or strategically place some sort of trampoline in the living room! Nothing new, though...it's always wild times with the Whittakers :)
