OUR JAYBIRD

I just couldn't help myself. I had to post another blog as I usually blog in threes :) Anyway, here's our little Jaybird. He spent the night with his cousin Blake and now insists that his name is Jase Ray Barnes, not Jase Dustin Whittaker. He's so excited for Pre-School as is his mother. He gets 2 hours of fun and learning, and I get 2 hours of mom time (provided Jaxon is having a nap)...hooray for school.

MASTER BATH

And just for good measure, here's another house post. The tile work in our master bath turned out wonderful. I love to go in there just to look at the mosaic or walk in the shower. Jaxon also loves to go in the shower because when he talks, it echoes. He played in there the whole time I vacuumed the floors. I'm looking forward to using these awesome amenities, installed by Cedar Plumbing (the best plumber in the world), at Hotel Whittaker.

STAIRS

Our stairs have been done for a while, and I keep telling everyone (especially Shelby) that I will post pictures soon. Well, here it is...our very own stairway to heaven. It's not stained yet, but I'm already in love with the whole stair railing :) Dustin is so cute. When we saw it finished for the first time he said he couldn't wait to see one of his daughter's come down the stairs all ready for a big date (like Prom). Of course, we don't have any daughters, but maybe some day :) For now, we will just be praying our crazy boys don't repel off the banister or strategically place some sort of trampoline in the living room! Nothing new, though...it's always wild times with the Whittakers :)

JUST ME & DADDY

Don't you just love daddies and their boys?! Jase and Dustin are best buds, and Jase just loves to be Dustin's sidekick when it comes to building. The pictures above shows Jase helping with the wood floor. He was a little trigger happy with the nail gun, but at least we know the floor isn't going anywhere :) Below are the boys just before church. Dustin asked me to make cookies for nursery, and they both kept sneakin' into the dough. I finally loaded them up a big ol' spoon of cookie dough, and they thought they were in heaven. Aren't they cute? By the way, Dustin just wanted fresh cookies on Sunday...and he knew that telling me they were for the nursery would yield dozens of cookies. Isn't he sly?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME

For those of you who don't know me, let's just say, I love my birthday (or birthday month). I'm the big 28 today which means officially late twenties. Dustin's at work until afternoonish, so it's just me and the boys. That alone can sometimes drive me to silliness, hence the pictures. I would have totally pulled off some body poses, but Jase isn't that great with the camera yet. Anyway, Happy Birthday to me!
By the way, this isn't some crazy post by my sisters getting me back for all the blog pranks I've pulled. They don't have my password...he he. Nope, it's really me, really loving my birthday :) I was going to throw myself a surprise party, but my house isn't finished. (Maybe next year.)

REMEMBER WHEN...

yone who wants to play...This is Fun!

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember--it can be funny, weird, awkward, random, etc.!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JAXON!

Yup, my baby is a year old. We had a low-key birthday with some presents and cupcakes. Jaxon loved opening the presents, and Grandma DeAnn was making him giggle up a storm. For some reason, ripping paper must be hilarious. I love first birthday parties. Jaxon was content ripping paper and playing with the ribbon. His daddy spoiled him, of course, but what's a dad to do when he has such a happy, handsome boy? Anyway, check out the video of Jaxon and Grandma unwrapping gifts. Our little "Jackaroni" was having himself some good times!
