For a fleeting moment, Will and I thought we might get to see each other before July 18. Will left today for his last overseas trip before the wedding, and we were hoping that he would be stopping in Charleston before crossing the pond (yeah, I'm picking up on the lingo). That would put him a mere three hours from where I am at my sister's house in GA. No dice. He's only making a stop in Mississippi, then on to Germany tonight. On the upside of things - his stop in Mississippi puts us closer than we've been to each other in almost four months! And now I hope Will has a great, safe trip...it's going to be a whirlwind after that. Will is going to do the walkthrough on the house on the 10th and then we close on the house on the 14th. I'll be in San Antonio on the 15th to do the final wedding prep. Will heads to SA on the 18th. After that it's non-stop until we make it up to WA sometime around the 10th of August. Whew.
The saving grace in all of this has been my vacation here in GA. We spent a week at the beach and it was full of fun, relaxation, good food and great times with family. Here's a little visual taste of our time there...
Me and the Girls
Anna and her man, Matthew
The Supper Club
Marla, the Movie Star
Ode to the Oak
We had to come back to reality, though, and we've been hanging out here enjoying the pool and the great outdoors...okay, so it's really still vacation! We did have quite the scare the other night, though. Around 2 am we heard a loud snap, then a long whoosh...due to the unexpected noise and the time of night, I thought we were under seige. Somewhere in the back of my mind I thought it might have been a tree that fell, but I was scared nonetheless. Alas, there were no intruders, only a huge, fallen oak. So sad.
