So close, yet still so far away...

For a fleeting moment, Will and I thought we might get to see each other before July 18. Will left today for his last overseas trip before the wedding, and we were hoping that he would be stopping in Charleston before crossing the pond (yeah, I'm picking up on the lingo). That would put him a mere three hours from where I am at my sister's house in GA. No dice. He's only making a stop in Mississippi, then on to Germany tonight. On the upside of things - his stop in Mississippi puts us closer than we've been to each other in almost four months! And now I hope Will has a great, safe trip...it's going to be a whirlwind after that. Will is going to do the walkthrough on the house on the 10th and then we close on the house on the 14th. I'll be in San Antonio on the 15th to do the final wedding prep. Will heads to SA on the 18th. After that it's non-stop until we make it up to WA sometime around the 10th of August. Whew.

The saving grace in all of this has been my vacation here in GA. We spent a week at the beach and it was full of fun, relaxation, good food and great times with family. Here's a little visual taste of our time there...

Anna and her man, Matthew

The Supper Club

Marla, the Movie Star

Ode to the Oak

We had to come back to reality, though, and we've been hanging out here enjoying the pool and the great outdoors...okay, so it's really still vacation! We did have quite the scare the other night, though. Around 2 am we heard a loud snap, then a long whoosh...due to the unexpected noise and the time of night, I thought we were under seige. Somewhere in the back of my mind I thought it might have been a tree that fell, but I was scared nonetheless. Alas, there were no intruders, only a huge, fallen oak. So sad.

Some beach, somewhere, there's nowhere to go and I've got all day to get there......can't wait to see you. Just don't let me leave my day job to become a photograher.....or a model for that matter.......enjoy.

Texas on my mind...

I have had the best time this past week and a half in my Texas hometown (I have to clarify because I have more than one "hometown" due to growing up all over the place). The shower my sisters, mom and best friend threw was amazing. Check out the gift that was made by all of the attendees. Priceless.

What you cannot see is that on the back everyone signed with a special message for Will and I. Awesome...I love it. I am going to be so, so sad to leave, but so, so excited for what's to come.

Also this past weekend I had sort of a mini-reunion with lots of old friends at a hometown wedding. It was great to catch up with people I haven't seen in years. So many people are doing such great things and I am blessed to know them. One friend even brought up our 10 year high school reunion (not for a few years yet, phew). Any chance to all get together again is worth it. This summer has turned out to be one of the best ever and we haven't even had the wedding and all its related festivities yet! I love, love, love this life.

...packed
...moved
...surprised
...shopped
...tired

It has been a wonderful, and wonderfully exhausting last few weeks. Will is back in the country and I am so glad for that. There is something supremely reassuring about being able to call him instead of waiting to hear from him (even if he doesn't answer his phone...).

Look further for some new pics of the almost-finished house.

drumroll please.....the house should be done at the end of June with a close the first week in July....of course, we were supposed to close in May, the first of June, then mid June...so I'm not holding my breath, which is probably why I'm high on paint fumes....and the most recent pictures to the home photo gallery include.....
