Our littlest one is 2 months old today! She is still just the most precious, wonderful, beautiful gift to our family.

She is changing so much every day. She smiles and coos at anyone who will make eye contact with her. And as you can see, she is losing all of her hair. Oh well! I guess there is no hope for our kids and hair.
She is still a pretty good sleeper and best yet, she is doing some of that sleeping in her own bed. We now start her out every night in the pack n play next to our bed and she sleeps in there for the first 3-4 hours. She would probably go back in there after she eats, but honestly, her mommy is lazy and doesn't get back up to put her in it. We just dose off together instead. :)

Today at her doctor's appointment she weighed 10 lb 9 oz(50%) and was 22.5"(75%) ling. So, she's growing just like she should be which means that breastfeeding is also going really well! Yay!!
We love our baby girl and can't even remember what life was like before her. She is just pure joy!

Great grandparents

Over the past couple of weeks, June has gotten to meet all of her great-grandparents.
We made a quick trip down to Jackson a couple of weekends ago so that Amma and June could meet each other.
As you can see, it was love at first sight. Amma wouldn't let us take back our sweet baby while she was holding her. ;)

Then, last weekend we went to Hartselle for Patrick and Katie's wedding. It was such a great weekend and a beautiful wedding. I will hopefully have a post later with more on the wedding, but for now, here's the picture of the whole crew(minus the honeymooners) after breakfast on Sunday.

This is both sets of great-grands plus Great Aunt Tam and Uncle Randy who also got to meet June for the first time.
We feel so fortunate that our kids have 5 living great-grandparents that they will get to know! Wow, what a blessing and what a great family!

Look alikes

Since June was born, my mom has said many times that she thinks she looks a lot like me as a baby. We then found this picture of me at 1 month...

Yep! Pretty similar!

Then they got me looking at old pictures of Will and Andrew. She looks a little like Andrew...

But I think this girl is an exact (maybe a little more feminine?!) copy of her biggest brother, Will.

Who am I kidding? We certainly have a mold. Who do you think she looks like? Any way you cut it, it's clear she's a Wha-key! :)

1 Month

June is 1 month old now. It is hard to believe that we have been a family of 5 for a whole month already. She just fits right in and it has been a much easier adjustment than I thought it would be. It really helps that she is pretty easy going and has been sleeping remarkably well for a newborn. The first couple of weeks, we stayed pretty close to home, but since then, we have been on the go again. June has been to numerous baseball games, out to dinner a couple of times, over to friends' houses, and even to Columbus for some back to school shopping. Life did not slow down for too long around here, but we wouldn't have it any other way. Thank goodness she seems to be flexible like our other two, and that is truly an answered prayer.

At 1 month old:
She is sleeping really well and only wakes up about every 3 hours to eat throughout the night and will go right back to sleep after or even while she eats. (Yes! I am knocking on wood right now.) The only downside to her sleeping habits is that all this sleep happens in our bed. She has yet to spend a night in her crib sitting right next to our bed. I NEVER envisioned us being a co-sleeping family, but it is what is working right now and so we are just going with it. Sleep is too precious a commodity for all of us! :) Plus, who wouldn't love snuggling up to this little doll?

Breastfeeding is going really well for both of us too! She is a natural and has been from the start. This little girl has quite the set of lungs on her, and always lets us know when she is hungry. :) I have been a lot more comfortable with the whole thing this time around and that has made all the difference. And I can even say that I genuinely enjoy breastfeeding and that is something I thought I would never say. But, it really is special and I love the relationship that is forming between the two of us.
I'm not sure what her stats are at 1 month, but she seems to be growing like a weed. She has upgraded to size 1 diapers and 0-3 month clothes. At 2 weeks she was 8 lb 5 oz, so I would guess she is well over 9 lbs by now.

She has recently become so much more alert and aware of everything going on around her. She LOVES looking/talking to her big brothers. She seems to especially notice Andrew. We joke that we aren't sure if it's that she is fascinated by him or terrified of him. ;) Truthfully though, they have been so sweet to her and are just absolutely in love with her.

We are all just so smitten with this new little addition. I find myself just staring at her sometimes and am in awe that this little angel really is ours. This first month of her life has been one of the best months of mine and I am looking forward to all the months to come.
