Pulling Up

Peek...
I found this after her nap.

Just a little tub shot. She loves the tub.

Pacee came to play!

Pacee came for dinner tonight. We had a great time. Savvy was SO excited to have her over. Savvy couldn't take her eyes off her during dinner. They had fun together, as usual. Here is a little sample. I love Pacee and I love that she will even give Savvy the time of day. Pacee likes to feed her. Pacee knows where we keep all of the snacks and walks straight to the cupboard. She selects whatever looks good to her and takes them in to Savannah to feed her. Savannah is used to Pacee feeding her and it is no big deal. Pacee watches when Savvy is ready for the next bite and Savvy just opens her mouth and Pacee takes care of it. I get such a kick out of them.

Her first valentine

Pacee delivered a special valentine for Savvy. It was her first and it was a hit. Thanks to our wonderful cousins Anna and Annie, and thanks to Grammy, Grandma Jacque, Papi, Great-Grandma & Great-Grandpa Godfrey for sending some special valentines from all the way across the country!! We love you all so much!!!

Curls?

Could it be? They show up when her hair is wet. She certainly has the genes...

Dinner Out

T & I love to eat out. We go every Friday night. This past weekend we actually got a babysitter for the first time and went without Savvy. It was really nice! We went to a really fun restaurant called Tobacco Company (no surprise). It is in an old tobacco warehouse so the setting is old and pretty neat. It was the night of a formal dance, which we never made it to, but got dressed up for dinner anyway. We had fun.

Jump or Swing?

Her latest. I know I post a lot of the Johnny J., but she spends a lot of time in it and loves it. She makes me laugh. :) She jumps forward then holds her feet up to swing for a second. It is funny.

Hard Work

She is getting better and better...

Afternoon Outside

She really hasn't had many outside days in her whole life, so it was exciting for her to just be out. I love how she rocks all the time. At the end of the video she spotted the neighbor walking by, which distracted her. Just a little clip of a few regular moments with her.

Grass?

Do any babies like grass? Not this one, at least not yet. She has texture issues.

I love her

It is 75 degrees outside today. We had to be out enjoying it in our short sleeves and shorts. Too bad it will be winter again tomorrow...

100 things...really 100?

You clever people have been posting 100 things about yourselves, and I don't know that I can even think of 100 things about myself. I have no idea how long it will take me to come up with my 100.

1. I am the middle child in every sense of the word.
2. I am stubborn and opinionated.
3. I feel badly because I am stubborn and opinionated.
4. I love to swing.
5. I love trampolines, but can't jump any more because of my back.
6. I have two 12" rods in my spine that make me invicible, except on the trampoline.
7. I like to drive.
8. I love to sing. Especially at the top of my lungs.
9. I feel sorry for my children because of number 8. (I can hear it now, "Mom! You are embarrasing me." Hopefully one of them will be like me and just join in!!)
10. I never finished reading books in public school. My book reports always ended with, "and you'll just have to read it yourself to find out what happened..." and it worked.
11. I got a D in high school physics. (See post about hanging rope in tree below.) But I wasn't a bad student.
12. I got a Master's degree, even though my parents presented beauty school as an option after high school.
13. The best thing about college was being a part of something bigger than my own little world.
14. I am such a die hard Utah fan, I sing the Utah fight song, including the musical interludes to Savvy nearly every day.
15. I feel like a little kid again everytime I turn on my HD TV. Kath: "WOW. I cannot believe how amazing this TV is. It is like watching TV for the very first time." Trevor: "Yeah."
16. My undergrad degree is in political science, but I tire very easily of talking politics.
17. I like to make people laugh, especially at my own expense. "Glory, glory, hallelujah!!"
18. I love my brothers.
19. I love my sisters.
20. I am very nostalgic. I always stare when I drive by our old apartments. I cry when I think of my parents selling their house.
21. I loved sharing a room with my sisters.
22. I'm not sure my sisters loved sharing a room with me.
23. I am so sad to sell our first house and leave Virginia.
24. I am excited to buy a new house in Arizona.
25. I have a genetic disorder which attracts me to empty boxes and sparkly things, I collect them both. Both come from my Mom, and her Mom, etc.
26. I really like to vacuum.
27. I hate doing laundry.
28. I love ice cream. All ice cream.
29. My favorite kind of cheese is brie.
30. I am totally loyal to my local grocery store, Ukrops. I like to know where everything in my one store is. It started with Dan's...
31. When I grocery shop, I do it in the same order every time. I could do it blindfolded. (Bread, dairy, baking, cereal, produce, deli, other, checkout)
32. In my next life I'd like to be an engineer, but #11 always haunts me.
33. I really like to start projects, but I have a hard time finishing.
34. I love short hair.
35. I have a small chip in my front tooth just like Lloyd Christmas.
36. Root Beer is my favorite kind of soda.
37. I started calling it soda when I moved to Virginia and no one knew what I was talking about when I called it pop. It is really called pop.
38. I love to garden because my parents made me do it as a child for one of my "outside" jobs.
39. At 5:00 nearly every day I wonder what is for dinner at my Mom's house. And I want some, unless it's salmon.
40. I HATE fish, emphasis on HATE.
41. I HATE the smell of fish, emphasis on HATE. If the table next to me is having fish, I nearly always want to ask to be moved, or leave.
42. One of the many reasons I love Trevor is that he HATES fish too. We are a match.
43. I dry-heave regularly. Especially when I watch Man vs. Wild and he eats raw or live animals, like snakes.
44. It makes me start to over-salivate just writing about Man vs. Wild and I can feel the heaves coming on...
45. I have to change the subject now.
46. I love humming birds and birds of prey. (I had one in my house once!!)
47. I love being a Mother more than any other job I have ever had, and I've had a lot of them. 48. I love being an aunt.
49. My best friends are still my high school friends. I love them so much.
50. I love that Ryan Parker is my brother-in-law, and that my friends and I have known him for so many fun years.
51. I love having a sister-in-law and look forward to getting two more of them.
52. I love to smile. Smiling's my favorite.
53. I love that I am getting smile wrinkles. I want smile wrinkles, they are the only good kind. 54. I still remember my thoughts and feelings as a child.
55. I loved being a child.
56. I love birthdays.
57. I love giving birthday presents.
58. Especially to myself.
59. I even wrap them.
60. I can't wait to buy birthday presents for Savannah when she will understand it.
61. I love having potted plants in my house.
62. I can rarely keep them alive.
63. I over water everything. (ooh, that's looking a little dry...)
64. I love to eat garden tomatoes, when they are still warm from the sun.
65. I love Trevor's cooking.
66. I love entertaining, and we do it often.
67. I could have music playing all the time, every day. I love music.
68. I love to play the violin. And I love that my fingers can just do it.
69. I love to teach children to play the violin.
70. I don't really mind the squeaking.
71. Someone had to listen to me do it too. What goes around...
72. I am fascinated by the complex process of learning to play an instrument. It is AMAZING to watch a small child do it. You can see the little brains at work.
73. I love to own a beautiful instrument.
74. I love to have a piano in my home. And I fully intend to own a grand piano some day.
75. I can't wait to start taking piano lessons again.
76. I can't wait for Savannah to take piano lessons.
77. I love walkie-talkies, over.
78. I love my pink cell phone.
79. I thing GPS is the coolest thing since HGTV. I am fascinated, and a little frightened by it.
80. I learned to type as a child as one of my "indoor" summer jobs.
81. My Mom was way ahead of her time knowing to have us do that. She is amazing in every way.
82. I love to quilt, but see #33.
83. I love to work on house projects, but see #33.
84. I love trees.
85. I used to love to climb trees, especially the apricot tree in front of my parents house.
86. It was the perfect climbing tree, except that it produced apricots.
87. The rotten apricots on the ground made me dry heave.
88. Picking up the rotten apricots was one of our "outside" summer jobs. (over-salivation beginning...)
89. I still can't eat apricots in any form EXCEPT my Mom's apricot syrup.
90. I was in Costco on Friday and my friend grabbed a bag of dried apricots and said, "don't you just love these?" I just thought, "You should try peeling them off the driveway after they have been cooked on for a week. Then tell me you like dried apricots."
91. I made a farewell/celebratory cake when they cut down the apricot tree. I really was sad.
92. I like to sweat. It means I have done something I had to work for.
93. Or it means I have survived another summer day in Virginia.
94. I plan to sweat a lot when we move to Pheonix.
95. I LOVE swimming. Emphasis on LOVE.
96. I want my own pool in AZ.
97. I asked Trevor really nicely for one. I think it might have worked...
98. I'm persistent or a pest, whichever way you want to spin it. When I want something, I ask for it so many times that the person often just gives in to get me off their back. (Ask Trevor about the CRV. It's a current work in progress...)
99. I have a great life, and I am happy.
100. For once, I have nothing else to say.

Fun with Dad.

Mom is nice on a sick day or in the middle of the night when you aren't feeling well, but Dad is a guaranteed laugh and a whole lot of fun. She can't keep her eyes off him.

Nice work standing on your tippy-toes for a while. No wonder she has such meaty legs. :)

Nice Dad. I can't wait for her to start doing it during sacrament meeting tomorrow or some other inopportune moment. I suppose for all of the wonderful things Trevor has taught our nieces it was bound to come our way at some point. :) She is a funny little thing.

Soon she'll be too big...

...to sit in the toy bin.
