While we don't live right in El Guapo's compound, we are certainly in a neighboring village to the north. Believe it or not, it is cool enough to want a sweater in the winter.
Thanks, Mom, for another gorgeous sweater.Sunday, January 31, 2010

Budding Enviromentalist
Conversation at the park today:
Me: Time to go!
S: Okay, I just need to hug some trees. (Immediately takes off running over to a tree.)
Me: What??
Trevor: (whispering) yeah, she has been doing this the last few times we've been at the park. Did you teach her this? She has to hug a few trees every time before we go.
(Meanwhile, S is running from tree to tree giving gentle, serious, meaningful, lengthy hugs to each.)
Me: Wow. Nope.
Me: Savannah, who taught you to hug trees?
S: Daddy
Trevor: (Shakes his head no.)
Me: Who hugs trees?
S: I do.
Me: Hmm. So you do.

Hey batter batter
When my Mom was here for the baby's birth, she took S to get a gift for V before we came home from the hospital. As they walked among the toys at the store, S spotted a Taggie Ball from a mile away and declared it THE gift. If you know about S's total infatuation with her own taggie, you won't find this surprising. Anyway, as it turns out, the taggie ball is V's favorite toy, no question. She bats at it and bats at it and you can see that it makes her little brain go go go. You can practically see the synapses firing!! This happens EVERY time. I love to watch. It even made her giggle a little tonight. (Sorry about Dora in the background. That's another post for another day.)
