Summer's finally waning

For a good part of the last six months I've seriously contemplated "finishing" the blog.  But then I went back and looked at all of the years that are documented here on this page.  We've come a long way since we were the Virginia Winegars!  And so I'm back.  Here's a summer recap:

Spent a lot of time on the boat this summer. Virginia likes to drive.  She's pulling Savannah.  That Uncle Derek is such a softie.  He'll go for just about anything.

I had a birthday, and baked myself some delicious Texas Sheetcake Cupcakes.  They were
just as good as I had hoped.  Happy birthday to me.

We hung with the Willards a lot.  Clara and Charlotte are shaping up to be great buddies.  Just another year or so and they'll be just as thick as the older ones.  On a side note: Charlotte has only worn shoes twice in all her life.  As a result, she doesn't care much for them.  Hoping the cooler weather will help her to see the utility in them.

Charlotte had a birthday.  She's one.  Wowza, the time flies!  Still not walking at 14 months.

The big girls FINALLY talked me into a lemonade stand.  It was at least 100 degrees that day.  Savannah had to wear her pioneer bonnet that we got in SLC this summer.  Pretty sure that at least 50% of the straws made it into Virginia's mouth at some point before the sale was over.

We went on a date for my birthday.  It was so fun.

Savannah started first grade.  She hated it at first.  She wanted to go back to Kindergarten where they play and sing and have rest-time.  First grade was just to hard, she said.  It's all work.  Math, math, math!
As an act of desperation, we had an after-school party to celebrate the end of being sad about going to school.  The party even included gifts and cupcakes.  Worked like a charm.
Now when she starts to complain I just say,"Oh wait!  Remember the party?!"
