Googie and Pawpaw came from Arkansas this week to visit Winnie. On Sunday night, we walked down to the arch to see the flooded Mississippi River swell to reach the arch steps. On Monday, we drove to Kirkwood and went to the Farmers Market, OK Hatchery, and Christophers. All in all, we did a lot of shopping and a lot of eating. Winnie enjoyed a daily bath from Googie and Pawpaw singing "Cotton Fields" to her. We had a great time during their visit. We love you, Googie and Pawpaw! Thanks for coming to see us!

So I need to be more creative and post something besides Winnie head shots, but this one was too rich to pass up. Aunt Becky and Uncle Joel came over today for a visit, and Winnie was a total crab. (In her defense, she was tired, hungry, and just got the second half of her two month shots). She was pitiful with band-aids on both legs, and crying the whole time they were here. As they were leaving, she tipped the scales with this amazing nasal blowout. Luckily, Becky was able to catch the moment. At least now, she's breathing a little better.

Winnie fell asleep yesterday propped up on a pillow. She looked so peaceful; I thought I'd take a picture. The light from the flash must've woken her up, however, and this is what I got. This is Winnie's "wake-up face"...tired eyes (she got those from me) and a weak smile. I was just telling Andy that I don't mind anymore waking up in the middle of the night or early in the morning. That's when she's the most precious. I am the luckiest mommy.

So Andy hates the doo-rag look, but I LOVE IT. We went on a walk in Forest Park this afternoon, and she was definitely the most stylish baby there. I felt like the worst mom ever, as I left her pacifier at home. She was fine most of the time, but if we rode over a bumpy spot on the path, she would get upset and was not easy to console without it. Oh well. She looked so cute, everyone forgave the fussiness!

Winnie loves her big brother Puddy. Puddy is slowly learning to love his little sister Winnie. I think he's a little jealous, but I think she's growing on him. I try to say his name a lot, because I want Winnie's first word to be "Puddy" (wouldn't that be so cute!?) When she's asleep on the couch, he often curls up next to her. He forgives her when she pulls on his fur. When she spits up, he is there in a flash to clean up the mess. I can't wait until she gets older and they can be playmates!

Winnie is officially two months old! We can't believe how fast time flies. She went to the doctor for her 2 month check-up and impressed Dr. Zuckerman with her ability to hold her head up so well. I was so proud! She weighed in at 11 lbs, 12 oz. and is now 23 inches long. She's in the 90th percentile for height and 75th percentile for weight. Long and lean, he said. And surprisingly, only 75th percentile for head circumference, which is amazing considering the Dean-head genes I brought to the table. She is smiling and laughing a ton lately, so check back for more pictures! (This photo was taken after her doctor's appointment...sleeping off the trauma of her DPAT/DTap, whatever shot) She knows how to party.
