Sweet Friendship

I cannot begin to explain how much I have loved watching Austin's friendship with Cale grow over the past few years. These boys are absolutely hilarious together and genuinely cherish each other.

Micah's 2nd Birthday!

I cannot believe that my baby is 2! It almost makes me weepy every time I think about it. Although we have a few glimpses of the "terrible twos" on random occasions ;-), for the most part, Micah is an incredibly sweet, funny and affectionate little boy. He is such a blessing!

When it came time to start planning Micah's party, there was absolutely no question what the theme should be. Micah quickly answered "Cars 2!!" like we expected that he would (He is slightly obsessed even though he has only seen the movie a time or two. ;-) He was very particular and asked that his cake have "Lightning McQueen and Francesco Bernoulli" on it. I was a little nervous about whether I could pull it off, but thankfully, Micah was thrilled with the result.

He loved being able to say that he was eating Francesco. ;-)

Christmas 2011

WARNING: Lots of pictures! ;-)

I absolutely love Christmas time! I have always enjoyed it, but since having children, my delight in this special time of year has grown exponentially. I especially love that it provides for us as a family, the opportunity to spend a large amount of quality time together. I did not think it was possible, but I actually fell more in love with our precious boys over the Christmas break. Having time to spend with them without worrying about a schedule or rushing from place to place was such a huge blessing! ( Of course, it did not hurt that Austin and Micah got along with each other incredibly well the entire break. ;-)

The morning of Christmas Eve, we headed over to Nonna and Papa's house (my parents) to celebrate Christmas with them and Brian and Ashley. The boys were so excited. Micah was really into Christmas this year and his eyes were bright and sparkling with excitement for most of the day (the whole week really ;-).

Austin had been eagerly anticipating Christmas for literally months. He even wrote a letter to Santa back in July. ;-)

My little goofball loves to make people laugh!

Nonna scored a home run with these Toy Story toys for Micah. He LOVES them and played with them all day.

Our yearly attempt at a family photo in front of Nonna's tree.

Micah loved all of the ornaments on Nonna's tree.

Micah and Uncle Brian are big buddies since Brian sneaks him lots of sweets and candy behind my back. ;-)

On Christmas morning, the boys were so excited to run downstairs and see if Santa had come. The big man did not disappoint. Austin and Micah were kind enough to humor me with a photo in front of the tree before they began unwrapping their presents.

We had told Austin that Santa brings each child two gifts so that there is enough to go around. ( and frankly, they already get enough from all the relatives ;-) Whenever he talked to Santa or wrote him a letter, he consistently said that his #1 request was a "Cars 2 Race Track". Therefore, he was absolutely thrilled when he opened this Slot Track from the Jolly Old Elf. ;-)

His #2 item wavered briefly, but the majority of the time it was a Toy Story Woody. After opening it, Austin proclaimed that he must have been a really good boy this year to have gotten both items that he asked Santa for. ;-)

Micah was far less specific with his requests, simply saying he wanted an "uck" from Santa. Luckily, Santa got some guidance from mom and dad and Micah was happy with the toys that received as well.

This is how they spent a large portion of their Christmas break. ;-)

After church, we headed out to Walker's parents' house to have Christmas lunch with them and Walker's sister's family. It was a bit chaotic with all the children unwrapping at the same time, so I was not able to get many good pictures. The boys had lots of fun playing with their cousins.

Santa!

Both boys in Santa's lap...at the same time...no tears....and I got it on film. It is a Christmas Miracle! ;-) Austin had been talking for weeks about what he was going to ask Santa for when he got to meet him. (I think he has had his list written since July...literally!) I could tell he was feeling a little shy when the moment came, but he marched right up, climbed in his lap and proceeded to tell Santa that he wanted a race track and Cars 2. Micah then went up to Santa, got in his lap and told him that he wanted a "uck" (Truck in Micah speak ;-) I was very proud of them both. The pictures I have from my childhood of meeting Santa involve me screaming my head off. ;-)

We even managed to get all four of us in a family shot. It really was a Christmas Miracle.

BAMA Boys!

For my dad's birthday, a few weeks back, I took some pictures of the boys in their Alabama gear for his office. I have had so much fun this year watching games with both Austin and Micah. Micah gets bored pretty quickly, but Austin is really beginning to get into it. Every Saturday, he asks me if he is old enough yet to play for the Crimson Tide. I gently remind him that genetics are not in his favor on the football front. I guess we could aim for field goal kicker, since he is probably built more for that and as everyone knows, Alabama could use a good one. ;-)

Pumpkin Farm Fun

Every fall we try to take a Saturday to go to Gentry Farm as a family. It was a little tricky this year with soccer games being on Saturday, but we still managed to squeeze it in. The boys loved showing off their muscles by seeing who could lift the biggest pumpkin.

Micah loved pushing the wheelbarrow which meant it took a really long time to get our pumpkins back to the car. ;-)

Austin also got to go to a pumpkin farm with his Pre-K class at school.
