Gotcha Day

October 30, 2006 and 2 years later...

October 30 was Elle's Gotcha Day and again my mom was in town for the yearly cousin reunion. So on our second Gotcha Day celebration we went to the children's farmstead with Gram, just like last year. It's becoming a tradition! This time Elle was much braver with the animals and even bottle fed the baby goats. It was hard work strong arming the goats so they didn't knock her down.

Later we met Dada for dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant. Elle LOVES chips and gauacamole! Then we headed over to Whole Foods for coconut milk ice cream - yum!

We also added a charm to Elle's charm bracelet - a puzzle piece, as puzzles have been a 'passion' of hers this year. It was a great family day and extra special spending it with Gram again.

Fish-slapped!

A few weeks ago we went to a farmstead; it's wonderful and free and everyone in the area loves to take their kiddos there. Eric decided that this would be a great opportunity to introduce Elle to fishing. Oh how he had expectations. ;) So it got off to a really good start and she caught a fish pretty quickly. But then, the fish fin-slapped her in the face and well, that was that. The moment was gone...notice the last pic in the below montage. I've also loaded two videos, one taken right after the fish-slap and then Eric's desperate attempt to salvage the moment. I'm laughing again!

Gram & Papa's August Visit

We had a great visit with my parents. Mom was so helpful with my massive curtain project. You'll see some of it in the slide show along with a few pictures of Elle 'adjusting' Gram's back! Yes, my daughter wants to be a chiropractor when she grows up! If you didn't know, Elle has seen a chiropractor since she was 10 months old. Dr. Dunn specializes in ped chiropractic care and cranial sacral therapy which was imperative when we came home from China. She also helps Elle retain alignment in her hips, which has been an ongoing challenge.

Oh, there's also a pic of Gram, Papa and Elle dancing to Bocelli and Elle and Papa cooling off with their water after working outside. Elle believes everyone else's water is more tasty than the water in her cup, so Papa shared his 'good stuff' with her. She was thrilled! :)
