Closed for Business

After giving this much thought, I've decided to retire from blogging. I really wanted to be able to post a journal of my adventures in cat lady craziness, cycling, rugbying, and traveling, but I'm not a very timely blogger and I just run out of time at the end of the day to get it done. Some people are born to blog, but this singer is not built for the blogging long haul. I enjoyed it while traveling, but now it's almost burdomsome and I need to let it go and announce the end of this blog.

Thanks for reading along for all these years! I may be back eventually, but for now, it's adios :)

Unhappy Camper

Meet LiLi! She is a temporary visitor to the household and is very unhappy about spending the day at the Cat Doctor getting tests to figure out a minor medical issue. She is waiting for her foster Mom to come pick her up and take her back home in the next hour. LiLi keeps growling at me so I think this is my cue to let her be.

Tailgate, Clam Style

All set, parked (after driving around the stadium 100 times and Beth almost killing us) and ready to eat and booze before we head into the game.

What NOT to Take on a Flight With You

This weekend I'm heading to Jacksonville, FL for Clamgate 2010 with Pam, Schlong, Buffalo, Cheese and Barbie. Should be a fairly uneventful flight, unlike my last one returning from Colorado. When I was at the Colorado Springs airport I tried going through security with a CO2 cartridge in my jersey pocket (it was cold and I pulled it out of my bag to throw on quick). TSA got pretty wound up about this. I removed it, gave it to them, said I was sorry, kind of like when you forget to take that bottle of water out of your bag, and tried to be on my way. Not so fast. I was asked to step of line and go with a TSA agent way off to the side and I was sat down and the questioning began. "Where are you going?" "What were you doing in Colorado Springs?" "What is this used for?" Um, OK...I answered the questions and was told this was a reportable offense. Um, sorry, I forgot it was in there? I enjoy having the inflating power of CO2 on my person at all times? After they photocopied my ID and held me a bit longer, I was told I was free to go and that I would be receiving a letter from TSA letting me know how much I would be fined. WHAT?!? You must be joking. At this point I was still so upset about my broken bike frame that they could ahve thrown me in jail and I wouldn't have given a shit. So I'm going to be fined anywhere from $10 to $500 and I'll be damned if I pay $1 over $10. I'm a threat to homeland security!
