Graduation

Well I did it again. I graduated from Bevill State Community College Sumiton campus last night. It was alot of fun. Thank you to all my friends and family who came to support me. We had dinner at Habaneros with Barry, Mary, Christopher, Jonah, Pop, Grandmama, Granny Gilbert, Lauren and Gary. We had so much fun.

Then on to the festivities. I was the first graduate to walk last night except for the one who sat on the stage to give the speech. It was lots of fun with Melanie sitting right beside me cracking me up. Then we took pics and had a small reception.

I graduated with my Associates in Arts degree Summa Cum Laude. I now have two Associate degrees and now on to UAB to pursue my Bachelors in Middle School Math. Wish me luck.

I am a very blessed and happy wife, mother, and friend.

Oh and Barry surprised me by bringing me home roses yesterday. Thank you to the most wonderful, thoughtful husband ever. I love you with all my heart!!

Wonderful Christ Filled Weekend

We just returned home from our Annual weekend in Nashville, TN. Our Lads to Leaders and Leaderettes had a wonderful weekend. We had lots of fun and glorified God in many ways. These wonderful young people are setting an amazing Christian example for the world to follow and will be the future of the Lord's church. I am so excited and proud to be a mom of two, well three or more, of these young people.

Here's a small recap, since I cannot remember what everyone got.
Mary made finalist in her speech, the first one she has done since 3rd grade. She did well leading her song as well and on her Bible bowl team and her photo. She also received a medal for Parade of Winners and Good Samaritan. Already making plans on what she wants to do next year.

Christopher, since he is under 2nd grade, participated in Song leading and received a certificate. He also received a medal for Good Samaritan and Parade of Winners.

Jonah participated in speech and from what I hear he did really good. He won 3rd place in his song leading.

All our Bible bowl teams, but one, placed 2nd or 1st. They did great. We had several speech winners and song leading winners.

Over all it was a wonderful, Christ filled weekend and we loved it. My hands and feet are finally starting to go down, they have been swollen today from all the walking we did since Thursday.

Congrats to all our young people!!!!

Almost Done

I am now in my last semester at Bevill. Yes, it has been that long. I am on the downward slide toward finals at the end of this month. So I will be busy and crazy for the next month. We will also be going to Nashville the weekend before finals for our Annual Lad to Leaders Leaderettes convention. Our kiddos have all been working hard and making great progress. My finals will begin the Wednesday after we get back on Sunday. Yikes!!! But the rainbow at the end will be I will graduate from Bevill on May 12th and I cannot wait. Then I have to go to UAB for however long it takes to get all of the math and education classes done, Hopefully not too long maybe two years. Everyone who would like to come to graduation is welcome. I better get off here and get some assignments done and then go decorate a baby cake for tomorrow. Will post pics when I finish - sometime.

A long time

Wow it has been a long time since I have posted. We have been really busy. I am about to graduate from Bevill on Thursday, May 12, 2011 and then start UAB hopefully this summer. Mary is in 5th grade and doing very well. Christopher is in 1st grade and doing very well. They love their teachers and friends. Barry has been doing what Barry always does, whatever strikes him to do at that time. We are thinking about getting a pool, but not totally sure yet.

A few weeks ago my beautiful daughter made the most important decision of her life. She decided to be baptized into Christ's church. She makes us all so proud. Barry cried like a baby while he watched from the pew. She is growing up so fast.

Christopher is still Christopher. He is very active and all the time going unless he is playing the Wii. He loves Mario. He has also told me that he wants to play football. So we are thinking about letting him play this fall and see how that goes. I am not sure if I want him to. He is a wonderful boy and makes us so proud as well.

Jonah is fifteen and driving. He actually is getting good at it. He is a wonderful young man and I know his mom is smiling down from heaven at him and his sister Jessica. They are wonderful children that I love dearly. I am so happy that Jonah comes over about once a week or more just to spend time with us. He is doind his first speech at Nashville this year and is doing so well. We love him and are proud of him as well.

We are getting ready to attent our annual Lads to Leaders/Leaderettes convention on Easter weekend and cannot wait. Our young people are doing so well preparing for this. Jonah is doing speech, song leading, and Bible bowl. Mary is doing speech, song leading, Bible bowl, photo, good Samaritan, Know the Books, and Parade of Winners. Christopher is doing song leading, Good Samaritan, Know the Books, Parade of Winners, and Junior Leaders. Jessica is doing song leading and not sure what else. They have already won in my eyes. It is not about the competition, but about learning more about God's Word and setting a wonderful example for everyone around you.

Well better get off here and get back to my school work. Yay! God Bless you all. Love you.

Second Semester Over!!!!! YES!

Well I have now come to the end of my second semester. I am so glad it is over. I had to take a class I absolutely do not like...History. I have never liked any form of History. And yes I still have to take another History class, but at least only one more. I took Western Civilizations I and it was boring. I do not care what they did back then. I have to take Western Civ II maybe in the Fall, but at least that will be it for History...History will be History for my major. I also took computer, which I had no problem with, especially since the book gies you step by step by step instructions on how to do the tasks. She posted that there were 3 A's and 6 B's and that was about half the class. I do not understand how anyone could not make an a or at least a b in the class. Oh well. My math class I had to make a -48 on the final to pass the class with a C, a 7.25 to pass with a B, and a 5? to pass with an A. I made a 92 and passed with 97.3. I also had English 102. I finished with straight A's again this term. I am so glad. I know it will probably get harder the farther I get into the program, but at least I have proven to myself that I can still use my brain. Summer term starts on the 27th. I will be taking Precal Trigin class on T and Th from 8-10 AM. I will be taking Anthropology and Survey of the New Testament online. Hopefully this will nt be too much with the kiddos at home for the summer. I also do not wantto take too much time from them as well. So if I look stressed one day, you know why.

Hope all have a good Summer.

L2L Convention and Easter

Our congregation went to our annual Lads to Leaders convention this past weekend in Nashville at the Opryland Hotel. We had a wonderful time. Lots of fun, walking, visiting, and did I mention walking. We were there from Thursday til Sunday. First of all, we met a high school friend of mine(she lives in the Nashville area now) across from Opry Mills Mall and let the children play for a couple of hours while we caught up. I loved getting to see her and her boys. We need to do this every year when we go up for L2L. Then we ate at Macaroni Grill and we loved it. We have never been there before, but will be going again. On Friday, we turned in ME's scrapbook and photo for that part of the competition. We hung out and walked all over the hotel and to the mall again. I know we walked at least 5 probably 10 or more miles every day. We had our Friday night awards and ME won 2nd place in the photo contest. On Saturday, she competed in Bible Bowl and Song Leading. Saturday night we had another award ceremony. During the awards ceremony I look over at Christopher and he has blood pooling in his mouth. I knew what it was so I did not panic. I told Barry to take him and rinse his mouth out while I looked for his tooth. Yes, he lost his first tooth at the awards ceremony and the tooth fairy got to come tha same night as the Easter bunny. ME's scrapbook did not place and she did not place in her songleading, but she did great. I am so proud of her for trying. Christopher did the k-2nd grade division for songleading. He did great as well. All our kiddos did great. We had several 1st and 2nd place winners in songleading and 3 out of 5 of our Bible Bowl teams placed in the top 3. Our youngest Bible Bowl team (the one ME is on) is being checked out since they think there was a mix up at the ceremony and the name was called wrong(the announcer couldn't read it). They think he was supposed to call Adamsville and instead he said Beal which there wasn't a team by that name. So they are checking to see and correct it if they did. If this is right then our youngest Bible bowl team also made it into the top 8. Sunday, we went to the worship service at the hotel. It was great. We then came home, unpacked and headed to Barry's moms house and the kids hunted Easter eggs. Then back to church, out to eat with Pop, and then home to go to bed. A long and busy weekend. It was well worth it and very Uplifting. Cannot wait til next year to do it all over again.
I am soooooo proud of all our young people. You are all winners.
