M y Dearest Brody-
Today, Saturday August 11 we celebrated your 2nd birthday. We had a birthday party for you at Old Fort Park here in Murfreesboro. We invited several of your good friend's for hot dogs, and cupcakes. It was a surprisingly cooler day for the month of August, so the kid's were able to enjoy playing at the playground without getting overheated.
Your grandparents, Mimma and Big Daddy came in town from Arkansas to celebrate your birthday, and Marmie came all the way from Texas for the party. You are so loved by so many and it was so evident that day.
We had a Sesame Street themed birthday party. You love Elmo, so I ordered an Elmo cupcake cake from Sam's. We had a great day celebrating you!

I remember so clearly that Thursday August 26, 2010 two years ago at 5:03 p.m. when you came into the world. It was the best moment of my life besides when I married your Daddy.
These past two years you have grown up and changed so much. We cherish your unique spirit and personality and adore you more than you will ever know.
As a two year old you have a sense of humor you really love to laugh and love to make others laugh. One of your best qualities is your empathy. When someone is hurt you are very concerned and aware of the situation. You are very in tune to the mood in a room with people. Brody, you are constantly watching people and if it seems like someone isn't happy you make it your job to make them smile.
You are very strong willed, your will try anything, you are tough physically but more fragile emotionally than you appear. You love language right now is words of affirmation and quality time. If I'm not paying attention to you, you will grab my face and kiss me to get my attention.
You are all boy. You love sticks, dirt, trucks, trains, balls, playing outside, blocks, and sports. You also have an artsy side. You really enjoy painting, coloring, and playing with play dough. Music is also one of your favorite activities. You absolutely love to sing. You will get your daddy to play your guitar and you will sing into your microphone. You love to snuggle in bed in the mornings with your Daddy. You guys lay in bed and watch Mickey Mouse before coming downstairs for breakfast. I know this is your Dad's favorite time of day. You are in size 2T-3T clothes, size 9 almost size 10 shoes, and weigh 34 pounds.
In September you started school at the Child Development Center at Middle Tennessee State University. Your teacher's name is Mrs. Z, and your other teacher's are child education majors from MTSU. It is a fantastic program, you have learned so much there and get excited every time we go. You go two days a week from 1-3:30. It has been a great opportunity not only for you to be in a classroom setting, but also for you to socialize more with your peers, and be challenged in your learning. Your favorite tv shows and movies are Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Thomas the Train, Sesame Street, Little Einsteins, Toy Story and Leap Frog.
You are our little blonde haired blue eyed sweet angel boy. I am so proud to be your mommy and cherish every second with you. We thank God for you every day and look forward to what this year has to bring as we watch you grow. We love you!!!
