Now that summer is almost over, I thought I'd put some pictures up from all of the fun. Maks continues to grow too big and I want to dunk out all of his birthdays.
Maks was growing his hair out but got tired of me having to brush it. I took him to some haircut lady and told her to keep it long on the top. She chopped his hair. Sad.
He has been riding his bike and playing with the kids in the neighborhood. I have been trying not to hover too much. :) He is making progress in the social arena and that was one of our goals this summer.
He continues to struggle with accidents (potty time) and trusting that what his parents are telling him to do is meant to help him learn and grow. Of course he has a mind of his own but this goes beyond that. It is almost like the 3.5 year old asserting independence stage. We have been home for about 3.5 years so kinda makes sense.
Anyway...we have settled into a parenting routine and we are feeling more comfortable with our choices and mistakes. :P Hate mistakes. Oh well.
Here is a video of our travels...

Another song...perhaps I'll post a audio file soon.
Maksi, Little Baby
We don't know what you went through,
What it was like.
Sitting all alone in the cold and darkness
Wonderin if she...
Would come...
With no one
To hold your hand.
But, I'm gonna be there for a long, long time.
And, I'm gonna hold you for one hundred miles.
And, I'm gonna love you for a long time.
Honey, Sweet darlin.
Mom and Dad are here
To see you through
All the pain and the hurt and the loneliness
Will melt away
When you....
Let us in.
Just breathe slow.
Cuz, I'm gonna hold you for a long, long time.
And, I'm gonna be there for one hundred miles.
And, I'm gonna love you for a long time.
Baby, Sweet Maksi
Have some fun, learn to read
Learn to love
Slow down your heart I can feel it beating just let the love come in
Hear it now?
Beating slow...
Cuz, I'm gonna love you for a long, long time.
And, I'm gonna hold you for a long, long time.
And, I'm gonna be there for a long time.
Just breathe slow.
Just breathe slow.
We don't know what you went through,
What it was like.
Sitting all alone in the cold and darkness
Wonderin if she...
Would come...
With no one
To hold your hand.
But, I'm gonna be there for a long, long time.

Just breathe slow.
Just breathe slow.

Keepin' Momma Happy
Elizabeth and I wrote this song the other day. It is our first original song. We have two more, now. One is pretty much done, but the Hippie Chicks haven't performed it yet. The other one is still in the works. But listen in and make fun of it silently. :P Lyrics at the bottom of the page.
Here it is... the moment you've been waiting for!
Keepin' Momma Happy
Well, I love to make you dinner
And keep your house cozy
Working hard for our family
But now it's time for me.
Everybody knows you gotta keep Momma happy
I ain't asking what you wanna do
I ain't asking what you think about it
I ain't asking for permission
I ain't asking for nothin
All I want is a little time for me
well, I love to watch you surfin'
And hear about your day
Love to love your cares away
But now, the music's callin
If Momma's not happy ain't nobody happy
I ain't askin what you wanna do
I ain't askin what you think about it
I ain't askin for permission
I ain't askin for nothin
All I want is a little time for me
All I said was to do your homework
I only asked you to clean your room
If you bring your laundry I will wash it
No, you can't have one more game
I ain't askin what you wanna do
I ain't askin what you think about it
I ain't askin for permission
I ain't askin for more than you should do
I just wanna do what's best for you
No, I ain't askin for nothin
I just wanna be what's best for you
Yeah, I just want to be what's best for you.
Here it is... the moment you've been waiting for!
Keepin' Momma Happy
