Thanksgiving Thursday!

  1. James can crawl so well, you can carry Maggie and he will just follow you (even down the hall).
  2. Maggie is fussy because of a runny nose, which is probably due to her top teeth coming in...or at least we hope she is getting teeth. She needs to catch up to James.
  3. The Coke man finally put Coca Cola (caffeine free) in the drink machine...who needs the caffeine when you can have the sugar.
  4. When a co-worker tells you..."You're great at what you do, and I'm not just saying that"
  5. The water bill arrives and it really did not cost a fortune to refill the pool.
  6. Our weekly Thursday night dinner was great, and the pizza really was SUPER!
  7. Your Godson is adorable, and more so in his eye protection!

Have a great Friday!

Thanksgiving Thursday

I am really excited about another Thanksgiving Thursday...I have been trying to think of words to describe my many blessings.

  • Whosoever: I'm a Whosoever...John 3:16! I love being a Whosoever! This weekend my BFF/Sister's child will be christened...Rob will join the ranks of the Whosoevers!
  • From Home: "sure...Work from Home"! How thankful I am to be able to work from home when a need arises.
  • Praise: I love to hear that something good has happend and God is praised!
  • Swing time=nap time? I would love to be so at peace, that my swing time became my nap time...James is living the life!

  • Leftovers: When the kids are unhappy and you are hungry..."leftovers" always has a nice sound! That is just one less day you have to actually cook!
  • Ahh HA!: the wonderful sound of something new making sense. Lots of these happening during my meeting today.
  • SMACK!:the sound of your Handsome Hubby kissing you, just BECAUSE!
  • Silence: the quietness of Maggie as she watches Franklin and Lucy play a game of chase.

  • You've got mail: the sound of afore mentioned BFF/Sister singing a voicemail that Grey's Anatomy is "ALL NEW" and reminding me that the "good ol' days are gone, but the NEW days are better"!
  • My Place:all the times we took someones place to be remineded that CHRIST took our place and paid our debt!
  • Giggles:the JOYOUS sound James and Maggie make when you tickle their feet!
  • Tomorrow:the day my mom and dad are coming for a visit!

I am thankful for so much...these are just a few words to describe them!

New Things...

Learning "new" things is always easier said than done. James is our leader in the "new things" category, since he can crawl and pull up. Maggie can pull up, she just cannot put herself into the position to pull up. Because James is mobile, he has more opportunity to pull up on things.

I purchased a Fresh Food Feeder for James and Maggie to try; I was more excited about trying the product...yes, I am that mama that tries everything I give them. (Of course, I eat baby food...if I think it's yucky so will they.) The feeder is great! I placed a real banana in the mesh pouch and gave it one good mash before handing it over...James and Maggie loved it!

We have officially began bath time together. This is a bit more difficult than we had envisioned; we have tried to locate the Aqua Ring, but everywhere we have checked is either sold out or they are on back order. Who knew there would be a run on baby bath rings?!?!

James is quite the splasher and he does try to help: he sprays Maggie, himself and tonight he got the bath giver...glad I was paying attention or that might have been in my face rather than my clothes. Sometimes extra arms would be a good thing.

8 Months and What "A-Day"

*Warning: Lots of words and pictures*

It is official James and Maggie are 8 months old and there is a laundry list of accomplishments:

  • James has 7 teeth, Maggie has 2 teeth
  • James is crawling, Maggie is scooting
  • Both are pulling up
  • Both enjoy all of the new foods Mama is preparing (mangoes, zucchini, plums...and this month we get to try white potatoes and broccoli)
  • Typical laughing and squeals...just on a louder scale
  • Try to mimic Mama and Dada...this is so fun!

Today was also the A-day game at the University of Alabama. This has been an annual event for our family for years...and now with the kiddos the Tradition continues.

In order to be prepared for a long day away from home, we began packing last night. Then I double checked the diaper bag twice, and made sure everything on my list was crossed off...and we still forgot bibs. All that planning and you still forget something...seriously, where is my brain sometimes? We also tried to gather as many helping hands to attend with us...two sets of Grandparents, Uncle Keaton, and of course Mama & Dada (7 people should be able to contain two 8 month old kids...Right?).

Mama Kay and Papa Ed holding James.

Anyway, as we are getting close to campus...the rain begins to fall. I am really not looking forward to a rainy day. Nanny and Paw Paw arrived early and saved us a spot in a parking lot close to the stadium, Yea to Nanny & Paw Paw for thinking about us! When we parked and got out of the car, the weather was a bit cooler than we anticipated. Good thing Mama packed pants...but what about jackets? Nanny to the rescue...Nanny & Paw Paw brought stockpile clothes and Praise God there were two red jackets to match their red pants. Mama Kay was also prepared with extra ponchos...considering Mama & Dada were concerned about James and Maggie they did not think of themselves. Whew...first 2 obstacles handled.

The new double stroller has a rain cover (which we did bring) and James was certain it tasted good, considering he spent most of the ride to the stadium trying to eat the rain cover.

We make it to a covered level with plenty of seats for our Crew...James and Maggie are in awe over the people, the sounds, the activity and not to mention the cool new field.

Hey Ronnie...the field looks awesome!

We enjoyed the 7 on 7 legends game...players from past years played a flag football game...I am sure there will be several sick days called in on Monday.

Nanny and James watching player introduction!

Paw Paw laughing at James and Maggie!

Maggie enjoying the activities on the field.

James and Maggie as their Zucchini in the stadium...although I am sure the Hot Dogs and Nachos smells were tempting them. They ate very well, with Nanny holding Maggie and Dada holding James. No mess and full tummies!!

James was too excited to take his nap; although, Maggie did nap for an hour...Rock Star Nanny can put the sleeper hold on her! James finally gave up the nap in the 3rd quarter of the game (approximately 3 pm), which is a long time for him to hold out.

Uncle Keaton giving James a birds eye view!

Maggie and the paci...

James and Big AL...

James and Mama...He is in the carrier and getting sleepy!

After the game we changed, reloaded, and headed out the gates back to the car. All in all, this was a GREAT Bama day...the kids survived 7.5 hours of football, being passed among 7 laps, and being out of their routine. But they two love Alabama Football and according to everyone we met...we are training them early!

ROLL TIDE!!!

Thanksgiving Thursday

This is my first attempt at a Thanksgiving Thursday! I will try to be brief this first time...but I am thankful for so much...where to begin!

1. I want to give thanks to Cat for inspiration...I am not sure I can verbalize my thanks, but I shall try!

2. I am thankful to My Wonderful/Gorgeous/LOVEABLE husband for all the help he has been to me. I don't thank him enough and when I do it is usually followed by another request. I love you!

3. I am thankful for Maggie, my beautiful baby girl, even though she wanted to PARTY in the middle of the night. She had the sweetest laugh and smile...at 2:48am...while playing with her rattle. *Prayer works...I prayed for rest over Maggie...and she finally went to sleep and slept the rest of the night! Our God is AWESOME!

4. I am thankful for James, my lovable little man, as he slept with his caboose in the air during Maggie's afore mentioned party.

5. I am thankful for my Bible Study...and the women involved...the series on Louie Giglio is AMAZING!!! I am blessed to know that GOD is big and I am small.

6. I am thankful for our families...we could not do the things we do with out their love and support! I love them more than words can express!

7. (last but not the least) I am thankful for my God, his Son, that they love me and are concerned for my life. I only hope that for every minute I am awake I am bearing His Fruit! I am learning Bible verses along with the kids...Psalm 34:1 I will bless the Lord at all times, His praise shall continually be in my mouth!

* these are just extras...

Happy Easter

Happy Easter! What a gorgeous day...we could not have asked for it to be more perfect! We had such a wonderful day...church was great, lunch with family/friends was fabulous and the afternoon with four kids was so much fun! Luke 24: 6a He is not here, He is risen!

We began the day at The Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit...beautiful sermon, a wonderful blessing over James and Maggie during communion, and an Easter Egg Hunt (we did not participate...just watched) to follow.

Off to Candice and Paul's for Easter Lunch...ham, potato salad, deviled eggs, asparagus, peas, and rolls...YUMMY, YUMMY!!! Candice is such a great cook; God has blessed her with a great talent and my tummy is always thankful. Oh, did I mention the cookies, brownies, and cake...all from scratch, cause she is Awesome like that!

We sat around this afternoon and held babies...Candice has two boys: G is 2 and Rob is 6 months (almost) and then James and Maggie are 8 months (almost). The kids were great...I think they really had a good time hanging around each other. There was also plenty of arms to hold babies...lots of love passed around today.

This is G with his Loopy Loop track...he is so proud!

Cutest picture ever...Rob: the ears were on his head, but he did not mind when they fell off!
This evening we came home and just played, we lowered James' bed (since he has decided to pull up in his bed), and then it was off to the showers. Neither took a great nap today (not fussy, just too much excitement) so hopefully they will sleep tight.

You put your Left Leg OUT?

This morning was the first time James has ever tried to take off his pajamas...and here is proof; he wanted his left leg OUT!

Maggie is still a lady and remained fully enclosed in her pajamas while being wrapped in her blanket.

The Stump

A father takes his son into the forest blindfolds him and leaves him alone. He is required to sit on a stump the whole night and not remove the blindfold until the rays of the morning sun shine through it. He cannot cry out for help to anyone. Once he survives the night, he is a man.

He cannot tell the other boys of this experience, because each lad must come into manhood on his own.The Boy is naturally terrified. He can hear all kinds of noises. Wild beasts must surely be all around him. Maybe even some human might do him harm. The wind blew the grass and earth, and shook his stump, but he sat there, never removing the blindfold. It would be the only way he could become a man.

Finally, after a horrific night, the sun appeared and he removed his blindfold. It was then that he discovered his father sitting on the stump next to him. He had been at watch the entire night, protecting his son from harm.

We, too, are never alone. Even when we don't know it, our Heavenly Father is watching over us, sitting on the stump beside us. When trouble comes, all we have to do is reach out to Him.Moral of the story?Just because you can't see God, doesn't mean He is not there.

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”(2 Corinthians 5:7)

The Elusive Ggie Ggie Face...

Maggie has this elusive "Ggie Ggie Face" which we have not been able to capture on camera...until NOW!!!
