being bad before CHRISTmas

dear santa-
Please call if you have any questions.

CHRISTmas in the Land before Time

We are finally back, and what a better time to return, than CHRISTmas!

Today-was CHRISTmas in the Land before Time!  Simple family time, with a non-traditional feast, and play time enjoyed by two excited 4 year olds.  They were so thrilled to be at Nanny & PawPaw's house, they literally could not eat breakfast...

We arrived about 9:30 and they were raring to go...time spent outside was great.  We rode our tricycle, ran, skipped, jumped, and swung until we could hardly breathe.

Following lunch, it was time to open presents...NEW JEEPS!!! Who wouldn't love that present!  Thank you Aunt Tee, Uncle Earl and Shelby!!! We love them!!!

Tons of fun these two had riding in these! We cannot wait to come back to the Land before Time- besides this is the only place our "license" is valid!

my first Hunting trip

It was a big day... James first hunting trip with his Dad and Papa! In order to have an excellent chance to see a deer, you first have to make sure they don't see you!

Step 1:  FULL CAMO

Now, we all know- you cannot hunt on an empty stomach.

Step 2: Load up in the Pick Up Truck, headed to a country diner for lunch

Step 3: Order a Hot Dog, Mac 'n Cheese, and Water
from the Brierfield Cafe'

Then travel back to the "hunting camp" for an afternoon of hunting with Dad.

Step 4: grab your coat and weapon

Step 5: Always wear Safety Orange

Step 6: you might need a headlamp, to see your Snacks

Step 7: Use binoculars to help in your search

Ladies and Gentlemen: you have yourself a recipe for a fabulous day in the woods hunting with Dad.
James stayed in the shooting house for about 1 hour before he was ready to go back to play with his Papa.  It was a wonderful time had by all !

The Nutcracker

The Sugar Plum Fairy was her favorite!

Football is...

-->
Do you remember your first football game...I do!  I was in my double digits and my hubby's was his 11th birthday!  Wow... these two lucky kiddos...they were 4. Four years and 21 days to be exact!

 They were so excited to be apart of the action, they just wanted to be like everyone one else... soaking up the atmosphere, and saying hello to everyone...greeting them with the traditional
"roll tide"

They visited Denny Chimes...measuring their feet and hands to the champions that came before them

With really good seats (translated...close to the bathroom and concession stand) we were ready to enjoy an afternoon of great football.  They were beyond excited to see the band, the cheerleaders, and Big AL! James kept asking if we were going to be walking through "those Bryant Denny Gates"... we read a lot of Alabama books.  Reading is good...taking it to heart is even better!

1 lemonade + 2 hot dogs + a half a pretzel + 70 trips to the potty + 1 hr of pregame warmups + 3.5 hrs of football +1 long Rammer Jammer = SUCCESS! They had a Blast and keep asking to go back.

Anyone got tickets on the west side?

It's the BIG "In Lieu"

It’s time once again for big Birthday Fun;

Maggie and James will be 4…which is three more than one!

This year is no different than the previous two

Come to our party and bring something “in lieu”!

Our first year was books, we collected 60 in all;

Given to a library in stacks…short and tall.

Our second year was shoes, Soles4Souls was the name;

We gathered 88 pair, new and used just the same!

This year SCHOOL SUPPLIES are simply the NEED;

Any of these things-can help one child succeed!

Some pencils, sticks of glue, crayons or a pen;

A ruler, an eraser, or a box… to store it all in!

How can you help, what can you do?

Gather the supplies and bring them with you.

We will donate them to Mark’s Village with care,

Many THANKS to those who are willing to share!

Please help us with this “Ready Day One”,

And I promise you - it will be TONS OF FUN!

Giving to others is just a small part-

When you give of yourself…you give from the HEART!
