I am looking at our calander and am pretty impressed with how busy we were last week. We are usually quite content to eat dinner and catch up on our favorite shows (shout out to Parenthood - such a great show!!!) but last week we were out almost every night.
Here is last week's run down:
Monday - our one night in...preparing for the week
Tuesday - our friends Amber and Peter were in the country visiting his family so we got to meet up with them for dinner...and see the school where Rugby originated (in the city of Rugby, go figure!)
Wednesday - Aaron's work has been holding an Iron Chef competition so we went to support our sponsor Sandy as she battled the Iron Chef. The secret ingredient was walnuts and the protein she had to showcase was shrimp...and she had an hour to conceive and prepare a dish! It was fun to watch and we enjoyed catching up with friends over dinner too
Thursday - We went to Leeds with three of Aaron's coworkers for dinner at a burrito place (it was like a Chipotle wanna-be, not great but not bad...and it had guacamole!) and then went to see Cleopatra, an original ballet. It was really fun because Aaron's coworker Tom is dating one of the ballerinas and she snuck us in for a backstage tour before the show. The ballet was great and baby especially liked the music in the second act.
Friday - We brought dinner over for Aaron's boss and wife who had their baby girl a few weeks ago. We had such a good time we ended up staying for hours!
Saturday - I know we're supposed to enjoy sleeping in as much as possible before kiddo arrives but I just can't sleep in past 7am after getting up consistently throughout the week! We had a wonderfully slow day and enjoyed seeing the new disney movie Tangled. It was funny though because I cried within the first five minutes...and then a couple more times throughout...oh baby hormones!
This week is much calmer and so far includes a music jam session for Aaron and some friends, dinner out with a visiting co-worker, and our 38 week baby appointment. It has gotten cold again so it's nice to be able to stay inside wrapped up in blankets!
I think the "nesting instinct" has started to kick in and I've been enjoying getting baby's room ready. Here it is!
(You can tell we are both California kids at heart!)

Now all we need is the baby!
