The Week Through Isaac's Eyes

This was a super fun week...here's a little overview:

Sunday

I got to go to Sunday School with the big kids and we talked about how man looks at a person's outward appearance but God looks at the heart
We compared what King David's crown might have looked like (probably not as cool as mine!)
and then saw some thorny brambles woven together to make a crown of thorns like Jesus wore

I wore my crown all the way home...and pretty much the whole day!

Monday

This big fuzzy bee helped us learn that I am not allergic to bee stings!
My finger puffed up quite a lot but after my initial "owie" cry I was totally fine

Tuesday

I like hanging out with my pal Scout (I especially like pushing his paw to make him sing) and climbing on my slide

Wednesday

I'm helping Daddy work out...I'm thinking of becoming a personal trainer in my spare time...

Thursday

Mommy and I had a lunch date at an Americana 50s diner complete with a deeelicious cheeseburger and a chocolate malt...with 2 straws

I got to drive the train, swing, climb, and slide in the playground to work off that milkshake!

Friday

Pears are super juicy and yummy...especially when eaten upside down!

Saturday

Daddy makes me laugh during an impromptu photo shoot before we head out to Monk Park Farm

I refused to feed the animals after this goat LICKED MY HAND - GROSS!!!

I didn't mind petting the guinea pigs so much

Daddy and I had a bottle all ready to feed the lambs...

These lambs were fast...and hungry...

You can't really tell but I'm terrified in this pic...but you would be too if a huge animal came careening towards you bleating and trying to eat from a bottle in your hands!

This bridge with pipes to drop food down to the goats is WAAAY more my animal feeding style

And of course a good swing makes anything better!

hmmm...do those clouds look a little ominous to you Daddy?

Just think...in a couple months I'm going to have to share the limelight with Pumpkin!

I liked these Shetland ponies - just my size

 Piglets = CUTE!!!
I can't wait for Pumpkin to get here so I can rough house play with my sibling like these rowdy piggies!

We saw so many interesting animals but I think this black and yellow bug was the coolest...
that frightens Mommy...

And that was my week
How was yours?!

Getting Crafty

I think it's a little early for me to be in the nesting stage but all I want to do is organize, de-clutter, and make our home even more beautiful.
It's kind of fun to find projects to work on.
Like this one:

I found this wooden bookcase  at a charity shop for 10gbp - a pretty good deal for such a solid piece!
(I forgot to take an official "before" shot so this is the bookcase already in transition)

My little guy was quite the helper
He LOVED sanding...and dropping rocks in the shelf to hear the "plunk"

He even got to sand the bookcase himself
I waited for naptime to start painting though!

Here is the finished product at home in our bedroom
The pop of color makes me smile

The desk (conveniently out of the picture) is next up for a make-over!

A Little Olympic Spirit

It was a gorgeous, sunny, blue sky, puffy-cloud kind of day...perfect for cheering on the
OLYMPIC TORCH as it made it's way through Harrogate!

Isaac was sporting his Union Jack shirt

They had loads of buses, promotional trucks, and police on motorbikes driving by to get some enthusiasm going...we were right across the street from uniformed kids from a nearby school...they sure kept the atmosphere festive with their cheers!

Some kids were carrying their own "torches"

I had a midwife appointment scheduled smack-dab in the middle of when the torch was supposed to run by but I made it to my guys just in time

Behind this yellow vehicle is a lady in white...if you look very closely you can see she is holding the torch!

This is as close to anything "Olympic-y" that we will be getting!

A few more buses to finish up the event...then home to enjoy the sun

Isaac LOVES picking up, dropping, and collecting rocks in our backyard
(or anywhere really)

He also makes sure our backyard electrical box is shut tight!

We were so thankful for such a BEAUTIFUL summer day!

It's June!

What a wonderful week back in England!

Apparently we missed 9 consecutive days of sun while we were gone...how ironic is that?!

Thankfully we have seen Mr. Sun a bit since our return, but most days have been gray and drizzly

Our first Saturday back we went to York to explore the Yorkshire Museum and enjoy the Busking (aka Street Performer) Festival...or "Buskival" as they called it

Sunday, the Queens Jubilee, was a dreary rainy day so after a morning at church we stayed cozy at home

Monday was sunny so Isaac and I played at the park.  He kept trying to chase other kids to give them hugs.  We came home to our street party celebrating the Jubilee.  I won third place in the cake competition!  (And yes, there were more than three entries!)

Tuesday afternoon Aaron and I got to see Sir Elton John in concert and he was amazing...
my favorite part was "Your Song" as the encore

The next day our friends, Kevin and Katie Cook, arrived!
They stayed with us for four super fun days - we explored York, Harrogate, enjoyed some pub lunches, walked through Bolton Castle, hiked along Aysgarth Falls, and cheered the floats during the parade at the Knaresborough Bed Races
Isaac especially loved playing "basketball" with Kevin!
Looks like the guys liked their sticky toffee pudding!

The rainy drive to Bolton Castle was definitely English
In the afternoon the rain cleared up so we could enjoy the view from the castle roof

The Cooks in front of Bolton Castle

He loved walking around all by himself...
...until he did a little face plant in the mud!

 Enjoying the falls

This pic makes me want a root beer float

Knaresborough Bed Race - Theme: Olympics 2012
Each team represented a different country...there were 90 entries!

The Belgium float had smurfs (apparently they were invented by a Belgian artist)...Isaac was not a fan!

He loved watching the parade though...he danced when marching bands walked by
We had such a blast with the Cooks!!!

Now life is kind of back to normal...we're all sleeping through the night (no more jetlag!), Aaron's back at work, and Isaac is into everything!  His current favorites include "drinking" water from a real cup, playing on his castle slide, and sweeping with a little broom and dustpan.  He desperately wants to figure out how to flush the toilet and LOVES being tickled.

Pumpkin is growing and moving about.  I'm starting to feel kicks and flutters.  We have our 20 week scan next week and I can't wait to see our baby!
