Traditionally the last show of the season,
the Nidderdale Show,
did not disappoint
It was on a Monday
(which is so weird to us - why not a weekend?!)
but it was teeming with people
Apparently schools in the Pateley area are closed that day
so the students can attend
It was about a half hour drive through green trees
walled fields dotted with sheep and cows
and even a bridge crossing
This was a first for us:
There were dogs everywhere you looked...this bear want-to-be was my favorite
Some setters in the center ring being appraised
Aaron was able to join us on his lunch hour
(don't you love the slacks w/ wellies look?!)
The tents were full of local beauties:
talk about farm fresh eggs!
gorgeous big blooms in front of piles of wool
hand carved canes
and the coolest looking ducks!
Benji loves being up on Daddy's shoulders
(but still hasn't learned how to not pull hair!)
My favorite part of the show was the miniature horse display
look at this gorgeous, perfectly tiny horse!
Can you tell we enjoy our hog roast baguettes?
They are served with stuffing and applesauce on the roll!
Someone enjoyed his treat -
A great way to cap off our year of local shows!
