March is coming in what, 3 days?
We are so ready for anything NOT Feb 2014
(really it hasn't been all that bad...we are thankful for little guys who have
sweet dispositions even when covered in itchy pox or hospitalized...again...)
Benji was a rock star with this canula
getting it in was traumatic but he didn't try to pull it out once!
and it stayed in for 3 days!
once he was off the oxygen tank and heart rate monitor
he was cruising the halls flirting with the staff
(at one point he commandeered a Dr's stethoscope and
was listening to all the nurse's heartbeats...or knees, whichever he could reach!)
once his oxygen level stabilized we were able to go home
between iv antibiotic treatments
Isaac and Daddy had loads of fun at home doing "guy things"
like changing the car battery
and making pizza!
what do you get when you add one little guy covered in chicken pox
and one guy with a plastic wrapped canula?
a fun sickie bath!
after 4 nights in the hospital
(Benji and I adjusted so well we both started sleeping through
his middle of the night treatments!)
Benji was switched to oral meds and allowed to come home for good
Daddy and Isaac surprised him with some special balloons!
Both guys are doing well,
Benji is as active and hungry as ever - another growth spurt I presume
and Isaac has been SO good about not scratching his spots
although he will sigh and say
"it's no fun having chicken pox!"
Thanks for all your prayers and well wishes -
they make a world of difference!
