Viva Las Vegas

we stopped for two nights in Las Vegas
on the way home
(there was a crazy deal on hotel rooms...probably because it was crazy hot!)

the kids were amazing
in a day and a half we walked 13 miles...boys included!

our final stop on the way home was lunch with some friends
at a pizza and arcade joint
the kiddos loved all the games and lights!

More Colorado

we enjoyed dinner at Casa Bonita
and this guy couldn't get enough guacamole!
(crazy enough, after being there maybe 30 mins
Isaac said it reminded him of the restaurant with the animals
meaning Rainforest Cafe...we were there 2 years ago!)

enjoying the big, beautiful Colorado sky

exploring Great Grandma's treasure box

we met up with some good friends from England in Tiny Town
it was so fun to see them again!

saying goodbye...

being bears with Great Grandpa

...and on the road again!

Colorado

When in Colorado you do fun things like...

drum in a marching band

get attacked by a velociraptor

explore the dino museum with Grandawg

see the dinosaur footprints in the upper right corner?

explore with Great Grandpa and Grandma Anderson

take in the view at Red Rocks Amphitheatre

take a tram into Denver

play in the fountains next to Union Station

read stories with Great Grandma

go to Evergreen Lake

peddle those legs

canoe with Daddy and Grandawg

and breathe in all that fresh mountain air!

That Time We Took a Road Trip

My Grandparents were celebrating their
55th wedding anniversary (woohoo!)
and we wanted to celebrate too
so we packed up the car and headed on a road trip

When I was growing up my parents would drive
STRAIGHT THROUGH THE NIGHT
to Colorado or Wyoming for Christmas
Aaron and I just looked at each other and laughed
and then booked a hotel in Utah

Probably our smartest move of the whole trip was
kicking it off with the longest drive (9 hours)
and every drive after that was at least a bit shorter
(although poor Ezri took about a week after we got back from
the trip to not freak out when we put her in the car)

It was a great trip

Ezri got to sit in a "big girl" car seat for the first time,
she was very proud...when she wasn't asleep

dinner at a fun wing joint in Richfield, UT

this guy enjoyed his rib dinner
(do you see the bbq sauce on his cheek?)

stretching those legs!

probably the kiddos' favorite part of staying in a hotel
is that we let them watch cartoons in the morning
(our favorite part of this hotel was the impressively yummy complimentary breakfast!)

the kids we such troopers - lots of books, toys and snacks helped!

flat-ish desert sloooowly changed to green mountains

and finally we are in Evergreen enjoying the deer from
Aunt Jill and Uncle Mike's balcony!
