Wuthering Lights

Isaac: Hey Mom, you know what? I really like old fashioned peppers.

Me: Really? What are old fashioned peppers?

Isaac: You know, the kind you ate when you were a little girl!



Isaac was looking at some mardi gras bead necklaces and exclaimed
"Wow, these are SO beautiful. They are like a pathway to Heaven!"

At breakfast we saw a cat walk through our yard:

Benji: That is a mean cat.

Me: What?

Benji: It's walking really fast and I know that fast cats are mean cats.

Me: Oh yeah?

Benji: I know that. I really know that.

I was talking about how they could be whatever they wanted when they grew up, if they put their mind to it and worked hard...
Me: Benji, what do you want to be when you grow up?
Benji: I want to be God!
Me: umm, well, no...

Ezri: Knock knock

Me: Who's there?

Ezri (gleefully!): IKAAC!! (how she says Isaac)

we surprised the kiddos this morning

with a breakfast picnic at the beach

we didn't pack swimsuits because the water is cold

but that didn't stop them from getting soaked!

they loved getting to run, dig and build castles

we loved learning that it's easy to find parking at 8:30!

(Benji was too busy playing to mug for any pictures and 

all three of them were having such a blast that they needed to finish their food

in the car on the way home)

it was Tirzah's first time at the beach

i think she approved
