Easter Egg Hunt

With Andersen taking a day off to play yesterday, it was back to the books for him today. Luckily I was able to find an Easter Egg Hunt for me and the kids to go to. Here are Coolidge and Waverly ready for it to start.

Porter's friend Josh came with us and here he is with the spoils.

After the egg hunts there were free bouncy rides for the kids. I love being able to stand in one place and watch my kids tire themselves out.

Here is Porter putting all those empty eggs to artistic use. He always amazes me!

Did I mention the free popcorn and cotton candy, too? My kids were in heaven!

After the Easter Egg Hunt I decided to stop by Jacobsen Park where they were having their Kite Fest.

And of course there was more fun to be had!

Lego Store

I had found out that there was a Lego Store in Cincinnati a few months ago so on our way home from the Air Force Museum we decided to stop and check it out. Let's just say that ALL of my boys were in heaven! Here is Mason standing in front of the "pick your brick" wall. The boys have started collecting the Lego Minifigures, but they've already missed out on the first 4 series.

Series 1
Series 2
Series 3
Series 4
Series 5
Series 6
So here are the kids picking through all the Minifigure pieces at the "Build Your Own Minifigure" station. These are just a bunch of pieces left over from the first few series.

Who knew there was something better than the candy store?!?

Look Who's Driving Now

On our way up to Dayton we stopped for lunch at IKEA in Cincinnati and when we pulled into the parking lot we saw this dog sitting in the front seat of this bus as if he had just pulled up, too! We all thought it was hilarious. What a smart dog!

United States Air Force Museum

The boys had this week off from school for Spring Break and Andersen had taken this week as a vacation week. Unfortunately, Andersen's last board exam is still a month and a half away so he spent the entire week studying. I was actually surprised at how focused he was! But today he decided to take at least one day off so we drove up to Dayton, OH to the National Museum of the United States Air Force. Last year we had gone to Washington D.C. for part of Spring Break and gone to the Smithsonian's Air and Space Museum, but this place was WAY better. There were 3 hangers full of every kind of air craft imaginable and it was all at the right price, free!

Just Call Him Scar Face!

I have been wondering when the next Campbell catastrophe was going to happen and here it is! Apparently the boys were playing on an extra mattress we were finally trying to get put away in the garage, but they had to play super heroes on it first. I don't know what Campbell's superhero abilities are, but they definitely do not include invincibility. Thanks to a good push from Porter, Campbell gouged the side of his face on the TV stand.

Andersen took Porter along to the Emergency Department too so that he could explain to the doctors that HE was the cause and so that he would have to wait and watch them stitch up Campbell. I think at least half of Campbell's injuries have come at the hands of Porter, that sneaky little sucker! But I think the best part of the whole ordeal is that the doctor who stitched up Campbell was Dr. Stitch. No joke!
Here is the whole story in Campbell's own words (that Andersen said he recited word for word to every nurse and doctor that entered the room).
