Not a blogger

It's been 10 months since my last post and I guess it is time for me to confess that I am just not a blogger. I love reading other blogs and I actually check them at least once a week. I catch myself thinking about a fun post I want to do and if I had the ability to send the post directly from my brain to my computer than I would be a great blogger. But it is more of chore for me and even when I have the time, I find myself doing other things. I love facebook because I can post about one trip or activity and it only takes me a few seconds.

I will keep my blog so that I can keep reading all of your fabulous posts but know you probably won't hear much from me.

Galveston

We had a wonderful week in Galveston. Cole had a great time and experienced many new things. He was scared to walk on the sand which was really quite hilarious. He loved the ocean which he called the "O" and the beach which he called the "Bee." What he loved the most was all the birds. He fed the sea gulls goldfish and the swarmed us wanting more food. I was the one scared of the birds, he thought it was so fun. Here are a few pictures from our trip.

Raelynn's birthday

I am so bad about keeping up with my blog! The last three weeks have been so fun and filled with tons of activities. It may take me a couple different posts to catch you up.

On September 17th, we celebrated Raelynn's 12th birthday. Can you believe she is 12! She is growing up so fast. She has officially started acting like a pre-teen. Actually ,she is a really good kid she is just becoming so much for opinionated and more concerned about her looks. She is turning is into a beautiful young lady. A couple months ago she got contacts and next week she is getting braces.

For her birthday we took her to The Magic Time Machine in Dallas. She had a great time and the young girl in her came out. She was giddy, hyper and so excited to be with her family (yes, we know that will not last long). Here are some fun pictures of her party.

Our table was inside an old school bus!

You can't really tell in the picture but Raelynn got
a special drink that bubbled and smoked!

Being silly!

Cole couldn't keep his eyes off the bus!

Raelynn and Caitlyn are such good friends.

Raelynn said she wanted dress up clothes for her birthday
so we bought her 3 prom dresses, high heels, a hat, several boas
and a bouquet of fake flowers. She LOVED it and it only costs $35!

Happy Birthday to our sweet Raelynn!

Toddlers and parties don't mix!

When Cole was young I felt like we could never go out with friends or to parties because everything seemed to interfere with his nap schedule or bedtime. Now he can handle going to bed a little later but I can't handle taking him to parties!!

We took him to a labor day get together yesterday and I literally spent three hours chasing him around my friends house and not being able to talk to anyone! I sat and watched all my friends lounging on the porch watching their kids play in the water or on the swing set, just talking, relaxing and drinking a nice cold drink! I was SO jealous! (I guess it is because most of their children are older than Cole but there were a few three year old playing?) My child ran around the yard which had no fence so I was constantly chasing him, he was eating the mud, trying to go inside with his muddy shoes, getting into the ice chest and eating all the junk food he could reach! I was so exhausted and was not able to talk to anyone longer than two minutes before I had to run off and stop my child from doing something crazy.

Cole loves to go to other people's houses, play with new toys and explore but honestly mama just can't handle it! Yesterday I felt like the only person who was having to constantly follow and watch my child as I saw my friends sit back and enjoy their adult time.

Wheels on the Bus

My child's first obsession was choo choo's but now it is Wheels on the Bus. It started with me finding a short u-tube video on my phone for him to watch, to him knowing all the verses and hand motions to the song. We actually bought a very cheesy but great 30 minute DVD called Wheels on the Bus. Cole asks to watch it everyday. It may be a cheaply made video but it holds his attention and teaches him all kinds of things. The website is www.wheelsonthebus.com

Here is a video of Cole doing the hand motions to the first four verses. He can't make his hands go around but he waves them a certain way every time he hears "the wheels on the bus go round and round." Also notice that when he hears the part "the horn on the bus, goes beep, beep, beep" he hits his nose. I am always amazed at how fast he learns new things!

Musician in training!

Cole loves music! He dances, sings and likes to play! I think I see a future career in recorder playing! He is so talented he can even play it upside down!

Too busy to blog!

It has been almost two months since I have posted anything on my blog! I have been SO busy lately. Most of you know that I do contract work from home and it is suppose to be a very part time job but lately it has been full time! I am enjoying the work and the extra money but it has been difficult to get all my work done. I work everyday during Cole's nap time which is about 2.5 to 3 hours and then cram in the rest of my work in the evenings and weekends. This past weekend I worked 12 hours and still didn't get my work done!!

I am so thankful for my job and the flexibility to stay home with Cole but I never realized how hard it would be at work from home! The average person leaves their home and other responsibilities and goes to work but I have to work while taking care of a busy toddler and maintain my household chores. Needless to say, it has been difficult and frustrating. I have had plenty of tears trying to figure out how I am going to make my deadline while chasing my child around.

So I rarely have time to blog because if I am on the computer I should be working! Like right now I am suppose to be working and not wasting the precious quiet time I have while Cole naps.

We are all well and hopefully I can post more once I meet some deadlines in the next two weeks!
