The kids went over to play at our neighbor's house this morning. Ruthann had a great time playing with their little girl. They played with dolls (Ruthann had brought hers), had a tea party, played with the toy animals and played with a doll house. When we got back home I asked her, "Ruthann you had such a great time playing with all those things, what was your favorite thing?"
She stood there for a second thinking then with a huge grin she pointed to herself and declared, "me!"
"Your favorite thing is you?" I asked.
"Yes!" Ruthann replied and did a jump of joy.
"You are my favorite thing too," I replied and swept this adorable little girl into my arms.

Essential Oils
This summer I have been introduced to doTerra essential oils. Unlike so many oils that are on the market these are really completely pure. They have gone through additional testing to not only prove that they are free from any additive but that they are actually from plants and not a synthetic version of the oil. I have tried essential oils before not realising that oils labeled "100% pure" can be a synthetic creation that is the same chemical structure as the oil but was created in a lab rather than nature. You can tell these oils are the real thing, they smell wonderful and they really work! If you use essential oils make use they are therapeutic grade oils like the ones from doTerra.
Back to how they work.... In the spring Branodn has terrible time with grass allergies. He was taking claritin daily and still constantly blowing his nose. If he tries to walk through the fields he is covered in hives and has an asthma attack. He had wonderful results from using an essential oil blend called Breathe . He actually was able to stop taking the daily claritin and just had a small bottle of Breathe in his pocket to use when he needed it. He was actually able to stop an asthma attack with three drops of Breathe on his hands cupped around his nose and mouth. It was pretty amazing to see after only two deep breaths his wheezing had stopped and he was completely fine in a few seconds.
I also have seasonal allergies but for me I found Melaleuca is the oil of choice. I get sneezing attacks but one drop of Melaleuca and they stop, leaving me feeling fine and able to get back to work. I have also found Lemongrass to work wonders on bug bites, bee stings and burns (it takes the burning or stinging feeling away in a matter of seconds) defiantly nice to have on hand and it smells amazing too. The other oil that I have used is Peppermint, one drop on the back of my neck and headaches are gone, so useful as I often get sinus headaches during allergy season and monthly headaches at certain times each month, but I hate to keep taking ibuprofen for them. One drop of peppermint and I am usually good for the rest of the day.
The results I am most excited about are from my Dad:
“I had a serious back injury due to a car accident over 3 years age. I try as much as possible to avoid taking pain medications because this is a long term issue and taking medications long term is not appealing to me. However, I am always looking for natural alternatives that will help to relieve the pain – most particularly so that I can get to sleep at night.
I was recently introduced to doTerra’s Deep Blue and have been using it for over a week now. It is truly a great find! One application gives me measurable relief for several hours – certainly sufficient time to get to sleep and to help when I know that I need to be sitting for a long period of time. I am very grateful to learn of this alternative and grateful for the pain relief I am experiencing!

Wildflower
Ok so here is the actual video but I think Ru's might be better.
I'm glad I was able to grab the camera and catch that. Ru loves music and we often hear her singing to herself or her "babies." I'll see if I can catch that on video sometime, she has the cutest voice. Now she and Frederick are off in the backyard with shovels digging for dinosaurs. Maybe they will get lucky, but if not at least they are having fun playing outside.
