I actually did some crafting yesterday by pulling a few supplies from the piles in the lounge to make some Easter cards on the dining room table.

I found these cute carrot puffy fabric embellishments that had been in Hey Little Magpie monthly embellishment kit and had kept them to one side of the stash knowing I could use them for Easter. Then I grabbed my pouch of scrap cardstock and made some little layered rectangles for the embellishments to sit on!

I then pulled the pouch of ready made sentiments from the stash – I found three that said hugs that worked with the colours on the carrots and cardstock.

Next I get grabbed three of the card blanks from the Kingston Crafts ready made card blanks choosing the peach, cream and pink ones.

A simple job and perfectly spring like! Admittedly could have done with an Easter sentiment really but that wasn’t an option as would have required searching through the piles of boxes of stash to find my stamps – and that was more than I could face!

So my three Easter cards for this year (admittedly they will be late arriving with the aunties as only made on Easter Saturday!). Cute!

Last night Martin was back on Hobbymaker tv and shared two world exclusives from Kingston Crafts which included the paper layering flower kit. When I saw the butterflies in the paper flower kit I thought they would work so well for embellishing a scrapbook page – and so I decided to scrap this picture my Princess M when she was tiny … ridiculous to think that this was 20 years ago now!

I took some pink cardstock and added a rough circle using ink and a blending tool – this grounds my wreath of butterflies!

I then added stamping to the circle – again it helps to ground and gives some interest to the background.

Next I added some pale green cardstock behind the photo – these are actually cards from the Everyday Stories kits from Kingston Crafts. then adhered it into place to the bottom left of the circle.

Next I glued each of the butterflies in place to go all around the circle with them in different directions.

Then I filled in the spaces with a mix of the paper flowers and some flowers I die cut from leftover green cardstock I had added to the photo as a mat. this helped to bring the green across the page a little more

I added sticker letters for the title for the page to the centre of the circle in a higgedly fashion – didn’t want them uniformly straight!

I then used clear glitter glue for the centre of every flower and every butterfly. As it’s clear it is just a little extra touch without drawing focus.

I love how those paper butterflies frame it layout so well. Lovely texture and delicate as they are paper not cardstock.

Love it! So that’s my Scrappin Saturday project for this week and of course I can also say ‘As seen on Tv’ – this kit is great and I’m not surprised that it sold out last night!

Ok it’s Good Friday but I am continuing to share my festive Friday card because … well because that’s what I do!

This card was made when I was testing out the Holiday shimmer spritz from Kingston Crafts and I had these pieces leftover – one is the gorgeous sugar plum which is a messy mop up paper from the spritzing through a stencil and the other is a stamped and embossed flower where I added colour by painting with the spritz – just gorgeous and super shiny!

I decided to put them together for a funky card! And I am glad I saved sharing this till now as I have not been able to craft still as still no craft room! Might have to just play with my stash on the floor at this rate! I miss crafting so much!

Because – well why not?

I love mopping colour off a stencil like I did with this – also looks like there were some splatters and drips from other spray colours too – maybe the silvery one I’ve already forgotten the name of! Just provides a lovely imperfect mixed media look.

And I love using spritz for painting with as the shimmer is gorgeous!

The emboss still resists the liquid as it is painted in and of course the embossed lines create wells for the liquid so you get different intensity across the floral image.

I added the panel to a mat of light pink from the pastel cardstock and then raised the flower and the sentiment from my stash of ready cut and embossed sentiments up on the foam adhesive for dimension.

I then added the little silver gems to give a different texture.

The pictures really don’t capture the beauty of the shimmer and shine on this card – in real life, although simple, it is gorgeous!

I was running very behind on this project and would have forgotten if not for the prompt from Kelly – my design team for Creative Knockouts where our theme is Embossing Delight.

The challenge is sponsored by RAM stamps although I used one I already owned for this – Christmas Merry

After printing the image I coloured with alcohol markers and then went over the letters and the snowman with a heavy coating of the wink of Stella to give lots of shimmer.

I then cut it out and set aside.

I then took some red cardstock to create the card base and a panel to emboss on – I used a Paperartsy stamp and some bronze embossing powder to add some fun shine elements.

I think the squiggly nature of the stamp star/snowflake image works with the digital stamp image.

I raised both the digital stamp panel and then the background panel up on foam adhesive so it’s quite dimensional.

I then added into the inside of the card a panel with the same digital stamp – but I think enough space still for writing a message.

Quite a cute card made using my limited supplies available!

It had been a while since I had used the cover die with the little squares in it so I decided to use it to make this fun birthday card as one of my samples for Kingston Crafts using the everyday paper pad. So whilst I am not doing my usual KCC for first of the month I am at least sharing a patterned paper project!

I used the solid green for the base and then the patterned green to cut the squares panel.

I then cut it again from some scraps and stacked a few of them together in some of the squares to add different textures. Some I kept flat and some I left empty to show through to the solid green.

I then chose to emboss the big Altenew floral element in gold and then I painted it with the Holiday shimmer spritz inks. This makes such a pretty finish with the shine and shimmer!

I die cut the image out and then glued it into place on the layered panel.

The colours I chose for the floral element based on the gorgeous red and coral spotted paper which I made the 5×7 card blank from to mount the green panel.

I then used an Altenew sentiment on a scrap of cardstock that worked with the colours. I also added some cream sequins for some shine.

Inside the card I added a panel of white and a strip of the green to tie into the front of the card!

How lovely and bright this is!

Hi!

So here is my DT contribution for Addicted to stamps and more – but it is also my Mothers Day card I made for my Mum a few weeks ago but we only got around to celebrating Mother’s Day last weekend as I had been poorly.

I made this when the whole craft room was in disarray with most of the supplies already packed up in another room as I’ve been redecorating the craft room and so needed to go through everything and clear out!

I did however still have some patterned paper in the stuff still in the room so when I saw an old 6×6 pad of pink papers that made me grab two of them to make a simple background panel.

I inked the smaller panel to just give it a little definition and then glued them in place on a 6×6 card base.

Then I die cut some leaves from the Alex Syberia die that I had just bought in the sale and used for my daughter’s birthday card. As I made this on the same day there is a sense of similarity to the two cards. I inked the leaves using ink and water using Lost Lagoon and Tranquil Tide and then layered them onto the card.

I then used some little layering flower embellishments (this is a sneak peek at a future Kingston Crafts release) and inked them in pink and yellow with a small blending brush. I adhered them together and then glued an enamel dot in the centre of each as the flower centre.

Then I added them to the card along with a few of the leaves from the same kit of flowers which I inked with the lost lagoon.

Next I die cut the letters for the sentiment from pink foiled cardstock and punched hearts to finish off with the same shiny pink.

A pretty simple card but given the lack of readily available supplies I am amazed I managed this (I had contemplated buying one but that seemed like a crime given how much stash I have! 🤣)

The lovely thing about shimmer spritz from Kingston Crafts is that you can use them on dark cardstock including black and still enjoy the shimmer and shine and sometimes so different colours emerge as a result of the different background.

On this one I spritzed the white spray onto the black and let it dry – and when it did the mica have a definite green hue – so that was the colour I went with for the accent colour.

Of course the Snow Crystal is one of my favourite large stamps for using with different mediums – it really works with a slightly grungy or messy background – especially when embossed in white!

I die cut the panel with a slim frame rectangle and the same from the green so that I could inlay the frame and then mounted the panel on the same green.

This green is actually from the pastel cardstock pack from Kingston Crafts and I’ve found that pack of cardstock has some perfect shades to go with the iridescent mica.

I then added a sentiment stamped and die cut Peace and added the stamped rest of the sentiment from Peace and Joy (another old favourite set).

Love how special that mica spray makes the black cardstock – it really does step up the card nicely. And love how when dry the shine doesn’t shed in anyway – the spray seals in the shimmer!

Kingston Crafts released new colours of the shimmer spritz and I love the navy blue. I know they are called ‘holiday’ (as in Christmas) but I of course did samples that were also very much not Christmas!

For this one I went for a medium coverage on a white card panel I also added a spritz of silver.

Once dry I used the glimmer machine to foil the art deco type design. I love this for adding some elegance to the background.

Next I stamped and embossed the floral image from a magazine kit. I then coloured it and then went over the colouring with the spritz using it to paint in with the shimmer and shine!

I fussy cut out the floral and added it onto the panel.

Next I took the same glimmer plate set for the background and foiled and die cut the sentiment. Just love how this sentiment looks.

I stacked it a couple of times for dimension and added it to the front of the card.

I love this elegant card with all the shine and the shimmer!

And of course I couldn’t resist trying to show you the shimmer with this little video…

… and this card also proves that whilst these colours are great for festive projects they also work for other types of project too!

I made a page using lots of leftovers from other projects … this one is celebrating my great uncle and auntie whom I have such fond memories of from when I was a child.

Really happy with how this page came together and the fact that I could use those bird stickers on a page about my Great Uncle Alf and Great Auntie Lou as they had a budgie called Bluey! 💙

It was a fun page to put together and I’m glad I popped the camera on to record the process. So check out the YouTube channel to see how I built the page from the scraps with a panel of A4 white cardstock and the background.

I love that I could use so many leftover pieces of paper and stickers from several different sets.

A colorful page but also so lovely to remember my sweet great aunt and uncle.

This is I think (unless I find some random footage on my phone) my last YT video for a while as now have no space to film until the craft room is redecorated, new flooring laid and furniture built and stash put back in! I will however try and do bits of crafting when I can over the next few weeks and share it here for you. But if I am MIA you know why!

Now time for me to get coffee and make a start on painting the ceiling 🫟

So I was very close to giving up and admitting I couldn’t make this weeks Festive Friday and this months Christmas in July/ March project – but then I cleared a bit of space on the work desk and picked out a few bits I could work with – and so my card for the theme of Pick up a Penguin which is our theme for this month in our Facebook group.

So I attached my ring light to the desk and moved the keyboard out of the way and got crafting!

I went with a super simple gelli printed background using two colours of ink and a little spritz of water to blend and move the colour.

I love the organic nature of these kinds of gelliprints – they are all unique and such fun!

Once dry I stamped the penguin image from a Creative stamping magazine in versamark and the same for the sentiment. Then I added grey colour to the penguins using Tombow pens that were on my work desk.

As the watercolour cardstock I had used was trimmed to be slightly bigger than the gelliplate I just went with a blue card stock and made the card blank and stuck the one layer onto that – this was enough to frame the image.

Inside I added the white insert panel with the same image stamped to keep it easy!

And there we have it – a simple stamped card with a fun inky gelliprint background and all made and videoed in a ridiculously small space with limited supplies!

I just need to finish decorating the room and get flooring sorted and then I can buy and build the new furniture and get my craft room back to normal! I can’t wait!

I do have a few projects still to share here for my DT work and a few other bits I made a while back but as soon as the craft room is back in use I have so many ideas and things I want to do and share so I suspect I will then be a very busy bee! 🐝
