“Then I turned my face to the Lord God, seeking him by prayer and pleas for mercy with fasting and sackcloth and ashes.” (Daniel 9:3)
Christians in the Middle East
More than 700,000 people have been displaced in Lebanon as they flee to escape the violence and chaos of the 2026 Iran War.
Again, as is the case time and again for this devastated country, the Church has opened its heart and doors to those fleeing, to those fearful and to those exhausted.
In Saida, Greek Melkite Bishop Elie Haddad described the terrifying reality: “Missiles are flying over our heads.” Although the area has not yet been directly hit, schools have been opened to shelter the displaced, and parish centers are filling with families fleeing bombardments. Most of the displaced, though, are living on the street or in their cars.
Please reach out today. Time is of the essence. God bless you.
