Kayla's 7th Birthday

Kayla was so excited to have a Birthday party this year!
She is my little artist so an art party was a perfect match for her.

Each little friend took home a personalized goodie bag.

I let the girls get creative with their own canvas.

I know we have seen the rainbow cake a million times but I was dying for a reason to make one.
Kayla LOVED it!

I tried to keep it simple. Just a few of Kayla's favorite treats!

Kayla LOVES Jell-O so we made some in every color!

Happy Birthday sweet Kayla!

Hiking at Riley's Farms

This little hike has become a tradition of ours.
Instead of Black Friday shopping we drive up to Glen Oak California
to Riley's Farms for the Apple Butter Festival.
We eat a yummy BBQ lunch and buy a bag of apples then hike this beautiful trail.

The girls love playing in the crunchy leaves.

Kayla found a treasure!

It was much warmer inside!
Pulled pork sandwiches for lunch.
Then we drive one farm further down the road for
Apple Donuts made fresh before your eyes.
They are perfection! I'm sad I didn't get a picture of them:(

AMERICAN GIRL

We went to the American Girl doll store on our fun mommy and daughter girl date!
We went with our friends the O'Very's and Bradbury's.
We spent the day looking at all the beautiful dolls and then ate lunch at the Cheesecake Factory.
It was a super fun day!

DISNEYLAND

We had an amazing 3 days at Disneyland!
Mimi treated her kids and grandkids to a fabulous week at the happiest place on earth.

The Grand Californian Hotel had a fabulous Halloween Party for their guests in the lobby!
It was fun spending Halloween at the park!

We loved it so much we bought annual passes!
Thank you Mimi for the best week ever!

MASSACHUSETTS SUMMER VACATION

We had so much fun in Massachusetts this summer! The girls were so excited to fly on an airplane, and see Boston and stay in a beach house. Our first stop was the Plymouth Rock!

This is the beach we had access to. Priscilla Beach is quaint and beautiful! I just love the homes along the ridge!

We went to Grandma Nancy's church on Sunday. The girls liked the fact that is was only one hour.

This is the Mayflower II. It is an exact replica of the original.

Funny Darcy and the Pilgrim have the same look!

Grandma's family came to America on the Mayflower.

A short little drive North to York Beach, Maine, a charming little seaside town. We played in the arcade (the same arcade that Grandma played in as a child)!

Got treats from this little shop! They make taffy on site and it's cool to watch them do it!

Then we headed over to the Nubble Lighthouse for Lobster!

I just love this lighthouse. The scallop trim is so cute and the little red house... sigh.

Daddy caught a crab! and it's not mommy!

Can't drive to Maine and not stop to see George Bush's house.

Plimoth Plantation is a must see. (Yes, I spelled it right. It used to be that way!)

Very hands on and educational for the girls.

Kayla met a friend! He's cardboard.

Darcy would've been a great Pilgrim!

Before we headed into Boston, we made a quick stop at the JFK Library. Really we just used their parking lot so we could take the subway into the city!

Public transportation is fun!

Darcy's friend from school suggested we go on the Duck Tour. It was a fun ride from land to sea! And a great way to see the sights!

Grandma Nancy's friend from church invited us to go play at her lake house. I'm glad we did! It rained a little but that didn't stop us from having fun! I love the mossy steps down to the lake front.

They had a great beach entry and private dock.

They had every water toy your heart could desire!

We had a great time!

This was our home for the week. Small but perfect for us!

The Boston Children's Museum was a highlight for sure.

Before we left Boston we had to get a cannoli. We recommend Modern's in Little Italy.
