Day 2...Your Favorite Song

My favorite song is, "All I Ask for Anymore," by Trace Adkins.  All that matters is my family, and I love them so much.  The song and video make me cry every time!

Mesquite, Days 1 through 3!

So, I started my 30 Day Challenge, but then we left for vacation, so that is on hold for right now, and I'll finish once we get home!  I'll resume on Monday with Day 2!  My parents have a timeshare in Mesquite, but haven't used it for several years.  Last year they let us use it and we came down at the end of October for 4 nights.  They were trying to sell it, but weren't getting any takers; I asked them to please hang on to it and we would pay the dues every year.  So the first time ever in our whole married life, we took off for a week's vacation!  We left Sunday morning (September 23rd) as soon as Drew got home from work.  We stopped in Hurricane to see Charlie, Kristen, and Andalasia.  We got to Mesquite in the late afternoon and RELAXED!  Got our favorite Jack-In-The-Box tacos and eggrolls for dinner and went to bed early!

Monday morning we had a relaxing morning, then we headed back to Hurricane for some swimming at Kristen's mom and dad's and a spaghetti dinner.  Before we went swimming, Kristen took me to Colorado City, so that I could see the polygamists.  I know I'm a weirdo, but I'm fascinated by them!!

All of the houses had signs above their doors that said, "Zion."

There were several wives and children out in this yard, but we were too scared to stop and get a good picture.

We drove past this one group of little girls on street, they were walking along, playing, but when they saw our car they all stopped and stared us down!  It was pretty creepy, like the Children of the Corn!

Tuesday we decided to go on a drive through Kanab and make the loop through Zions.  It was kind of a long drive for the kids, but it was GORGEOUS, and we had so much fun!!  The little town of Kanab is SO cute!  I loved it!  We went to Denny's Wigwam for lunch, it was a tourist gift shop, and a BBQ restaurant, out back was set up like an Old West town.  The kids had a blast looking at everything and climbing on things!

They had the coolest giant chair!  Here's little Miss KayCee!

Andalasia looks so tiny!

Driving the Covered Wagon

Someone stinks!!

After Denny's Wigwam, we went over to the Hollywood Museum.  They had the coolest gift shop and some movie sets that you could explore and take pictures with.  Kristen has all of those pictures on her phone, so I'll have to wait to post those!

I got Carter and KayCee these way cute Sheriff badges, and we got my mom an old glass TaB bottle!

Kanab is about 30 minutes away from Zion, so we took the loop through Zion.

This is the entrance to the mile long tunnel.  It's so narrow, that only one lane of traffic can go through at a time.

Kristen and I waiting to go through the tunnel!

KayCee waiting to go through the tunnel!

Tuesday night Kristen's niece babysat Carter, KayCee, and Andalasia for us, so that we could go play BINGO!  None of won, but then we hit the penny slots, Charlie came out ahead and Drew and I didn't lose too much!  We made Charlie buy us all Jack-In-The-Box!

We still have the rest of today, tomorrow, and Saturday, of our vacation left.  Tomorrow we are headed to Vegas.  Saturday we hve to check out of the condo at 11:00 (noon, Utah time), but then we are going to head to Hurricane and spend of the rest of the day there, so that we can drive while the kids are sleeping!!

We just got back from swimming, and are going to have some lunch and watch a movie, so this is to be continued...

30 Day Challenge...The Sequel!

I miss blogging...but you get to the point where you're so far behind that the task seems daunting...so, I've decided to do the 30 Day Challenge that I did last year to get my creative juices flowing, and maybe along the way, the bloggy world will be updated with the going ons of the Garvoilles.  So, without further ado...

Day 1 of 30 Day Challenge...The Sequel!

Day 1 ... A Recent Photo of You
Took this picture this morning!  I always take the opportunity on a good hair day to take a picture...you never know if there will come a time that you go missing, and your loved ones will have to provide a picture for the search party ;)

Whirlwind trip to Hurricane!

I can't believe I haven't blogged since December 1st, which coincidentally is the day my sweet baby great-niece, Andalasia, was born, and the majority of these pictures have her in it!  I will go back and blog about Christmas, and everything that has happened since the beginning of the year, but in an effort to not get further and further behind, I want to blog about the amazingly fun and relaxing Memorial Day weekend we just had!

This is my nephew, Charlie, his wife Kristen, and their adorable baby, Andalasia.
We hadn't seen Charlie in quite a few years, but thanks to facebook, we were able to stay in touch!  They came up to Salt Lake at the beginning of the year, so that we could all meet Andalasia.  I fell in love with this baby!  I think I have bond with all my nieces and nephews, and Andalasia was my first great-niece, but there is something about her, and I just can't get enough of her!  I've also bonded with my niece (in-law) Kristen!  I fee like she is the little sister I never had!  We have so much fun when we're together!  It's like we've known each other our whole lives.  It's so fun to see how much Charlie's grown up!  He's gone from the little boy I met when Drew and I were dating to a fantastic husband and father.  We have such a great time with them.  Kristen's mom and step-dad, Brandi (great name, by the way), and Tim, are also such cool people!  I feel like we have a whole new family down in Hurricane, Utah.  We quickly plan a trip down there for the first part of April, we also got to see them when they came up for Drew's sister's, Annette's, wedding in March.  Then they came up again at the end of April to have the baby blessed.  So, we've seen them every few weeks!  And already have two more trips planned!
We decided to go down to Hurricane for Memorial Day weekend.  It was the most perfect weekend vacation!  We left Thursday night and drove to Fillmore, and stayed at a little motel.  The kids slept the whole way down!  In the morning, we got up, drove to Beaver, had breakfast, and Drew bought him a new shirt...
Then we drove straight to Hurricane!  Andalasia waited for me to get there to take her nap!  It didn't take her long to fall asleep in my arms!
Of course you can't head to the St. George area without getting some Jack in the Box, 2 for $0.99, tacos!  We grabbed some tacos and eggrolls and headed over to an awesome splash pad for the kids to play!
Andalasia snuggled with Aunt B, because it was a little too windy for her to play in the water!
Carter and KayCee had a blast, though, and even made some new friends!  After they played in the water, Drew took them for a ride on the carousel.

Saturday morning I woke up to this cute face!  I seriously could not get enough of her!  She is such a litle ray of sunshine!
After some breakfast, we headed over to Kristen's mom's pool!  Andalasia was ready for a nap not too long after we got there.
But then she perked right up to go swimming with Aunt B.

 And Grandma Brandi!
Brandi had goggles for Carter and KayCee to wear, and they were diving all over the place!  They had so much fun swimming!

We bought a new pool floatie, and even I had a fantastic time floatin' around!  The pool at our apartment complex opened this weekend, and I can't wait to spend some time floating around!  It's going to be a great summer!
This weekend could seriously not have been more perfect!  I've been really struggling with my depression and anxiety the last couple of months, but this weekend it seemed to all go away.  I was so relaxed, and so happy, it was just amazing.  I've been doing everything in my power to try and keep the positive feelings and attitude going!  I've attacked the week rejuvenated and with motivation!  I don't want anyone or anything to ruin this fantastic mood I'm in!

Drew was afraid of getting sunburned, so he got out of the pool before the rest of us, and went and got us some Little Caesars for lunch.  I had to reward my Prince Charming with a kiss!
Kristen the lion with a blue mane!  RAWR!
Carter was doing tricks, and telling me to, "Rock on!"
This was the view from the pool, it was so incredible!
Sunday morning, we got up and got ready, had to get a picture with two of my favorite girls!
Charlie had to work, so we headed over to Cracker Barrel for some lunch.  I love their chicken and dumplings!

After lunch we headed back over to the splash pad and the kids had some more fun.  I was too busy holding the baby to take any more pictures, because it was our last day there!  We got home and had ice cream cones.  I fed the baby her cereal and got her ready for bed while Drew packed the car.  We headed out about 10:00 at night.  First, we had to go back to St. George for some more tacos!  We got back to West Jordan about 3:00 a.m., and the kids slept the entire way.  I just have to say that my kids were SO well behaved the entire trip, and it was just so relaxing, everyone was in a great mood, and we just had so much fun!  I think it was just what the dr. ordered.  At the beginning of the year, I started a fitness program working with my friend, Sarah, who owns Body by Sarah.  I've lost 30+ pounds and over 25 inches.  I still have a long way to go, but I'm starting to feel so great!  Even the pain in my back is getting better!

Disney on Ice!

The Saturday after my grandpa passed away, my mom took us to Disney on Ice.  She bought us front row tickets, again!  She is the greatest mom and grandma, and we are so lucky to have her!  I love her more than words can say.  Disney on Ice was the fun activity that we all needed after a very bad couple of days.  Of course Grandma Trace bought each of the kids a light, and cotton candy that came with Mickey Mouse ears.  I had the kids' picture taken with a Little Mermaid statue and background, but Carter made me promise that I would not post in anywhere on the Internet!  He is definitely growing in to a teenager; I can't believe he will be 12 in 10 days!

"Don't take my picture, Mom!"

This year they added some of the classics to the show like Alice in Wonderland, Snow White, and Peter Pan.  It was awesome!

Carter and KayCee are staring at the "Pixie Dust".

Tinkerbell is KayCee's favorite!

KayCee wanted a picture of the elephant from Aladdin.
