InterContinental Kuala Lumpur

Extremely satisfied with my stay! The room was spacious, the bedding was comfortable, and the lighting design was thoughtful as always. The hotel staff were professional and warm, and the breakfast was also very rich and varied.

I stayed at the hotel for four days, and the absolute highlight was the breakfast buffet. It was incredibly extensive, and the food quality and service were consistently excellent, with the selection changing daily. The room itself was generally good, but the only downside was how noisy it was. I definitely needed earplugs to sleep, otherwise, I would have been woken up by the roar of traffic. The front desk lady who checked me in, I think her name was Merit (something like that, I can't quite remember), had a completely cold and unsmiling demeanor the whole time, which made for a poor first impression. The hotel's location is good though; Grab taxis make it easy to get anywhere.

The bed in the room was super big, and the location was good too. Room service was excellent, and it's very central. The hotel is a bit old, but that doesn't really matter. It's very convenient for coming and going, and there's a convenience store downstairs.

The hotel is located 900 meters from the Petronas Twin Towers, but you can't see them from the room. There's a subway station directly opposite, but crossing the road is a bit inconvenient. Free parking is available on hotel level B2; you just need to register your license plate and room number at the front desk before heading out. The room facilities seem to be from when the hotel opened thirteen years ago, not from a 2024 renovation as stated on Ctrip – beware of this discrepancy. Neither the front desk, housekeeping, nor security staff speak Chinese, though the restaurant staff are friendly and proactive in striking up conversations. During my stay, there was a 'Welcoming the God of Wealth' performance, but the quality of the act was quite low, just something to fill the time.

Breakfast was a bit chaotic. We were told to go upstairs to eat, but then people were also being let into the downstairs restaurant, which had plenty of empty tables. The food was mostly Western, but I felt there was a lot of Indian influence, which might not suit Chinese tastes. The room cleaning was quite sloppy. The tissue box was empty and wasn't replaced; I had to call for new tissues myself. The floor lamp was broken, and I had to get someone to come and change the bulb. I've stayed at many InterContinental hotels, and by the standards of most of them, I believe this hotel's service still has room for improvement.

Close to the Twin Towers, the hotel offers a shuttle service that drops you off right at the towers. Due to pool maintenance, guests need to take a shuttle to another hotel to use their pool. The restaurants inside the hotel are quite expensive; a bowl of noodles costs 50 MYR.

The hotel's location is great, but the facilities are a bit old. The tap doesn't turn off completely, and the hot water isn't very hot at night. The food is pretty standard, but the staff are very friendly.

Great location, only a 10-minute walk to the Petronas Towers. The room was clean, and the bed was huge. The festive atmosphere was a nice touch, and overall, it's excellent value for money. The buffet dinner was also really good!
