I Haven't Posted Here in Four Years. But I Built Something You Might Like.

Published March 21, 2026

Yeah, four years. I know.

You already know the backstory — I took a full-time job back in 2021 and Izzy Video quietly wound down. That's still the situation. But I never stopped building things in my (limited) spare time, and I wanted to share what I've been working on with you before anyone else.

It's called obyo. You give it a YouTube video, article, or topic you're curious about, and it builds you a full course with spaced repetition flashcards — the same kind of system that actually makes information stick long-term.

I built it because I kept learning things and forgetting them a week later. Turns out that's a solved problem, just tedious to implement manually. obyo does the tedious part.

There are already 70+ courses in the library, all free to study. Generating your own course on any topic costs $7.99.

Take a look: obyo.ai

I'd genuinely love to know what you think.

This might be the biggest announcement from Izzy Video ever.

I just accepted a position with a tech company (I'm excited about it!), and it will take my full-time effort, so I made the difficult decision to stop taking new memberships (starting on Dec. 4th).

Flow Module Giveaway!

Published November 2, 2021

I have a fun surprise for you today. I'm giving away another Flow Module theme for Final Cut Pro.

This theme contains six animated title templates and one custom transition. They're all designed to work together.

Because this a Flow Module theme, it's meant to be an alternative to using static slides in a video project. This helps take advantage of the video medium by ensuring there's always at least a little animation. Something is always moving. And slides don't usually do that.

Watch the video above to see a demo of this theme in action.

Anyway, you can get the theme from this page.

Inside the zip file is a video that you can watch which demonstrates how to install the templates.

A few highlights of this theme:

  • All the colors are customizable in the Final Cut Pro Inspector.

  • All the Drop Zones are customizable as well.

  • The templates work in projects up to 4K in size.

  • The durations are customizable.

  • The overall feel is gentle and flowing.

  • There's a setting for "Line Vertical Offset", that gives you control over the line design element's position.

If you haven't already registered for the additional five free Flow Module themes in the Nectar collection, you can do that here.
