Etsy

This last week I finally started my Etsy store. I've been thinking about doing it for ages and it finally happened. Right now I only have some fun SLR camera straps listed, but over the next few weeks I plan on adding a few quilts, some point and shoot camera straps, little girl aprons, babydoll aprons and some hair accessories. In the future I want to write and publish PDF patterns for some of the quilts I've done so you will see those eventually. Check it out if you have a sec, there is a link in my sidebar with some current listings or you can got to . Also to celebrate my "Grand Opening" I am offering free shipping on all orders within the US.

P.S. If you have no idea what I'm talking about it's OK! Etsy is an online marketplace for all things handmade, just think of it as a big online Quilted Bear. Have fun looking!

Flea Market Fancy Giveaway

I may have mentioned before that I love to sew. I have never been really interested in a certain line of fabric until recently. There is a great line by Denyse Schmidt called Flea Market Fancy and it was recently discontinued. Now when you find some it's like Christmas! This give away is even better than finding some in the store because there are lots of patterns!

Halloween 2009

This year Corey was a chicken for halloween (thanks to Shelley for letting us borrow the costume). He looked adorable, but I was a little annoyed that people kept thinking he was a girl. Oh well, I guess I can't be too annoyed, he's almost 2 1/2 and it's the first time that has happened. Anyway, we had a great time, we visited with some family, went trick or treating and ate with friends.

It always amazes me when I look back at pictures how much Corey is changing. I love comparing year to year.

FYI...

I would love to give some excuse about being super busy or doing really cool things, but mostly I'm just a lazy blogger. I was telling my mom that I don't blog much because I don't have anything really creative, clever or fun to say and she kindly informed me that no one really cares, they just want to see pictures. So this one's for your Mom (and Connie, sorry it's so long coming). Everyone else, sorry, 5 minutes of our kid may be really boring (although he is really cute!).

Where does the time go?

It feels like I blink and another two months have gone by. Sorry about that. We are doing fantastic. Jim's schedule has slowed down a little so we've seen him a little more and Corey is growing like a weed. Here's a little synopsis of the last few months...

- We went to St. George to play golf, play with grandparents and attend my cousin Stacie's wedding. It was a great time. The weather was fantastic (not too hot :-), Corey now recognizes and calls all his grandparents by name Gma (Jim's Mom), Papa (Jim's dad, apparently Grandpa is just too much of a mouthful), Pops with an emphasis on the S (My Dad) and Gammy (my mom). Stacie was a beautiful and gracious bride. We had a great time visiting with family and enjoying the celebration. Also just as we were leaving for St. George Corey chucked his sippy cup at Jim, giving him a sweet black eye. Check out our new family Picture...

- I made 13 aprons and have 11 more to make. I love to make them and it's a good thing because I've been busy. I often have to choose between blogging and sewing and unfortunately for my blog, sewing wins every time.

- We celebrated Corey's 2nd birthday. I can't believe he's 2 already. He is so smart and so sassy and so fast that I'm having a bit of a hard time keeping up however, it's fun and I keep reminding myself that he will only be this little for a minute.

Some things that our little 2 year old enjoys are: saying bye when we tuck him in at night, running play trucks and motorcycles over daddy's head, going for walks, stealing your chair and saying "my chair", giggling, reading books, playing with the hose and more giggling. Corey talks up a storm, and we finally got a camera that will take video so here's a sample. His current favorite phrases are "oh my gosh" and "ummmm, sure." (click on the video and it will take you to Picassa and Play)

- I have been working on my sewing blog, but I'm having problems coming up with a cute banner, and I don't want to publish it without it being done. Sorry, nothing happens quickly at our house.

- My mom and dad came to visit for a few days and we had a great time. I love it when they come because we always do some big project. I could take you on a tour of your house and show you all their visits: built in closets, dining room to office conversion, living room decor, dry bar outside of the theater, and our newest visit, flowers and landscaping in our front yard. I love having them come because they can do EVERYTHING and are always up for doing it. My flowers are looking great and I smile everytime I pull up to our house as I think about how much fun we had doing it. I love you Mom, thanks for all your help!

Corey and I were at Costco today and decided to get lunch. It was about 12:30 we couldn't find a seat so we ended up sharing a table with an older gentleman. We chatted a little and he talked to Corey. After a little bit the man said to Corey, "You got your mom's eyes." I was quite flattered, because Corey has big beautiful eyes, and rediculiously shaggy long eyelashes, but ended up saying something lame like, "yep, they turned out pretty similar." I've thought about what he said all afternoon and am so thankful that I get to be Corey's mom. He is awesome and I love how he came to our family. I love knowing that he is such a special spirit that Heavenly Father guided him through all the many twists and turns that it took for him to be with us. I also love that for the rest of our lives we can always laugh about how Corey has my eye color and Jim's hair color- because honestly, if you didn't know any better you'd swear it was the truth :-)

Who wants to rock this party?

Corey had discovered my ipod shuffle and now has a hard time giving it up. He dances like a crazy man in his own little rocking world. Check out his sweet moves...
