After we parted, I looked up.
And I think it was then,
Under a lemon moon,
Under a cloudless night sky,
That I fell for you.
And before I went to sleep, (And maybe this is where I went wrong)
I thought about an us,
The endless possibilities of us.
And whenever we met,
And we'd just look at each other,
I'd look around and I'd see them all; (And this is why I smile to myself sometimes)
The many versions of us.
But then I saw them all slowly disappear,
I saw us slowly disappear,
Under the same lemon moon,
Under the same cloudless night sky.
And before I went to sleep, (And this is where I fought with myself for hours)
I mourned the death of us.
