On our journey back to the United States we were able to spend some time in Paris and Italy. We first flew into Paris. We booked somewhere to stay with airbnb. The guy we were renting the apartment from for a couple nights picked us up at the airport and we headed to his place he rents out. After dropping off our luggage we walked down to the subway to find our way to the Eiffel Tower. It was so amazing to walk around the corner and see the Eiffel Tower in the distance. Like the rest of the hundreds of tourists we took several pictures.
Didn't quite get our camera alignment right here. ;)
As we continued to walk around and see the sights these two little munchkins were flabbergasted by the statues. They were often pointing and giggling at the nude statues. Such a different way of life than they are used to. :)
Eventually it started to rain and we headed back to get some rest.
The next day we had a full day in downtown Paris. What we were able to see was amazing! (Although Mike has promised to take me back some time so we can see more of the city. Kids weren't too interested in visiting museums and seeing the Mona Lisa :( But eventually I'll make it back!)
We were still able to get a tour of the Eiffel Tower and go for a boat ride on the Seine River. So fun to explore and see different parts of the world. I would love to have seen more of the city, but was also grateful we could all experience this together as a family. Lexi and Kenny know more about the world at their young age than I ever did. Although I sometimes feel bad about not setting roots somewhere and moving the kids around the world and having to change schools so many times, but I believe they've seen a unique view of the world and hopefully they'll look back and be grateful for their experiences.
Laying down on the glass bottom floor in the Eiffel Tower! :)
Heading out on the Seine River
Our last night in Paris we stuck around for the light show at the Eiffel Tower. It was absolutely stunning! As much as I would've enjoyed seeing MORE of Paris I am grateful we were able to take the kids
