Our darling, delightful girl is 1-year-old today.


A year ago, while lying in the operating room, I would have called you a liar if you said I would have a crawling, cruising, sniffley, funny, chatty girl in just 365 days.

(The poor little petunia has actually been sick for the last three days. Thank god for grandparents!)

And, this seems timely.



Seems our little girl isn't so different from so many others. She actually isn't getting much from her parents for her birthday (but will likely get too many nice things from her friends and family). I bought some water for another baby from Charity Water. Did you know that $20 will provide one person with clean drinking water for 20 years? And, Ellen now owns a share of a goat. (Apparently, porcupines aren't a hot commodity).

What a wonderful, amazing, (somewhat trying), and fun year this has been - all the more so by your support and friendship. Thank you for loving our girl as much as we do.
