Grandpa and Grandma Great

January is a great month to take a trip to Layton and visit Grandma and Grandpa Adams. Ty was getting a little restless in the house all day so we made a day out of it. I am amazed at how much energy my grandparents still have. They are my hero's for sure.
Grandma made us her famous Goolosh and Grandpa helped feed the ever moving Ty.
Grandma was having fun entertaining the boys with books and board games and all sorts of funs stuff.
Ty was watching a movie and Grandpa came in, held out his pinky, and rocked him back and forth. It was so sweet. Ty and Grandpa Great are good buddies.
Bode joined in the fun as well. But Bode's favorite thing to hold on to...a remote control.

9 Months

Bode is progressing quite a bit slower than Ty did, but you won't hear me complaining. Once Ty was mobile, he was everywhere and in everything. I'm just buying my time with Bode, hoping that he's not as curious as Ty. Bode is now army-crawling everywhere. I think he's going to skip crawling altogether. I know he can do it, he just chooses to use his arm strength rather than his legs. He now has 2 teeth on the bottom. He shakes his head yes (along with his eyebrows). He loves to watch cartoons in the morning with his brother. He is officially a big boy, refusing his mommies nectar and preferring to drink from a sippy and eat everything he can. He is an easy-going baby, and we'll do just about anything to make him laugh and smile.

Can you see the tooth?
Did you catch the eyebrows?

Once There Was a Snowman

Matt had about a 3 week break from school so he and Ty had lots of time to play. On one of the days that snowed, they dressed in their snow gear and spent about 2 hours outside making a snowman. Ty was in heaven!

It was too cold outside so I took these pictures through the window
I jumped in the shower while they played outside. In the middle of my nice warm shower, I heard someone knocking on the front door several times. I figured it was Ty or Matt, so I got out my warm shower and put a towel on as I ran through the house dripping wet. It was Matt. He needed a bowl to pack the snow in so they could have a perfectly round snowman. Did I mention that Matt is not a perfectionist AT ALL!? He thought he was pretty funny making me get out of the shower just for a bowl. I wasn't so amused.

New Years 2010 to 2011

This year for New Years we spent some time with our friends the Dennings and met some new friends as well. Dave and Alesha are so creative! They had all sorts of fun games planned which included many of the challenges from "A Minute to Win it" on TV. Whoever got the fastest time won a prize, which included Cafe Rio and Movie gift cards. I'm naturally a pretty competitive person and I failed miserably on almost every task. Luckily for Matt's thrusting skills we won some movie tickets!

We named this game "How's it Hanging." The idea is to hit the oranges with the banana that's hung from a string around your waist and get it on the green. I about wet myself from laughing.
Mr. Andelin was a crack up!

Matt got the best time...

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
We scooted on over to the BIG APPLE for the 2011 celebration!

Christmas 2010

This Christmas morning was very relaxing. We didn't have any breakfast appointments or get-together's to run off to. We just enjoyed our time watching the boys unravel their Christmas treasures.

At first Ty ignored all his toys and pointed out that Santa had really come, because the cookies and milk were all gone. It didn't take long for him to go crazy opening all his gifts. His favorite gift was his snow shovel. Bode's favorite....food! It was fun to see the boys opening presents and playing together.

Later that day we were able to talk with Elder Sam Platt on skype. It's seriously so cool that we can see him and he can see us! He's doing so good and still has his slap happy personality!

Christmas Eve at Nana and Papa's!

This year we had a Norweigen theme to remember and learn about Nana's ancestors. We had rack of lamb and many other yummy surprises.
The kids love getting the traditional pj's, pillowcases with their name, books, and toys from Nana and Papa every year. What a fun tradition!

The Night Before Christmas...

...and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even my SPOUSE! But little Ty was too excited to go to bed right away. So we read this book and watched the cute movie that went along with it. We drank Candy cane Hot Chocolate, set out cookies and milk for Santa...

...and then put that boy to bed so 'OLE SAINT NICK could come!

Platt Christmas Party 2010!

We had our Christmas get together with my family a few days before Christmas. We had a good time, despite the 100 year flood that prevented us from doing much! The kids really had fun!

One of the days when Ty and Eli were being particularly out-of-control, my mom jokingly threatened to put the boys in straight jackets and tape their mouths. Well instead of scaring them into good behavior, they decided that straight jackets was the better option. Boys will be boys!

This is the first year we haven't done the Adams family party (my moms family) in my whole life. Kinda weird for me, but Grandma and Grandpa Adams made sure to send down the usual gifts to us and of coarse the ties from Mr Mac. We missed Sam and can't wait to have him back!

Clapping!

Bode just discovered how to clap! He's so proud of himself!

Christmas Sweaters!

Couldn't resist taking a small photoshoot of the boys in their matching outfits!
