Halle Kay (Hallecakes)

Our sweet Halle Kay was born on July 7, 2010 at 7:52 a.m. and weighed 7lbs 15oz and 21 inches. She is 10 weeks old and I am just getting around to introducing her on my blog, but she shouldn't feel bad, I am not a very good blogger these days.

The 2nd baby is definitely a lot easier, but it seems to be going by much faster. She is such a sweet little angel. She is different from Jonas in a lot of ways, not just gender! He has so many tummy issues and was colicky and much smaller, Ms. Halle does NOT have a problem with that! She is my little piggy..but it has been much easier having a baby that doesn't have tummy troubles..I am so thankful for that because my little Jonas is a very busy, active toddler!

Jonas LOVES his little sister and is so sweet to her. He sings to her, kisses her, hugs her , wants to play cars with her. He is a bit loud and rough, but hey, it is making her tough at a young age! He has mainly acted out towards Matt and I..but after all he is 2. He has had spankings and many time outs..but despite all that, he is the sweetest, smartest, funniest little guy! Learning and remembering so many things. Saying so many long sentences..mommy, its getting dark today.. maybe go to park , maybe later...and when he wants to look at Halle, he says...I see her mommy. He always wants to say hug and kiss when there is a farewell. He is so outgoing..and told our neighbor the other day..bye and I love you!! He also started preschool at my sister-in law Michelle (Aunt Chelle as Jonas calls her) preschool. He is LOVING it and meeting some little friends and learning so much..he is getting too big though!

Here are a few pics for now..I will have to post some more later too!!
Hope all is well and everyone is enjoying the fall and FOOTBALL!!
And..Jonas' nickname is Donuts and so Halle had to be some kind of food...so she has become Hallecakes..(Halle Kay)...we will see if that one will stick or not!

Summertime Happenings and only 2 more weeks!!

SATC2 Girls Night Out

Shelby and Jared and their kids came in from LR to visit some of their friends in the Springs, and we got to have dinner with them..love her!

Me and sweet Becca, aren't we hot!?? She was due in about 4 days..

Shelby's kid Chase and Jonas

My sweet Becca and her sweet Macey

One of my favorite things about summer, is eating popsicles outside, so we have be doing that a lot this summer!

Jonas and Daddy are always being so silly!

My big boy..he looks so grown up with his little fro hawk!

One night, he kept digging his face into the watermelon and drinking the juice!

I can hardly believe that in almost 2 weeks baby girl Burcham will be here! I really am ready to meet her. My body feels a bit more worn down with this pregnancy than it did with Jonas, but I guess I wasn't chasing a toddler around and working! My Aunt Risa made the bedding for the nursery and Matt did all the painting, it is almost ready and I will definitley post pics. My other Aunt Robbe helped picked out the fabrics and my mom flew in one weekend to help sew also..I am thankful for all of them and their desire to help me..I felt so special!!

Matt also got a promotion last week as Director of Due Diligence Compliance..he really deserved this promotion, he has been so dedicated and commited to this job and always trusted God, and God has blessed him and our family..I am so proud of him!

So, this past month, been trying to go to the Pool as much as I can, Jonas, of course, loves it! It is easier with him this summer, but also hard to keep up with him, he RUNS everywhere and is fearless and curious..he has always been so busy! Anyhow, he loves outdoors and I am just fine with that..because I love them too! We are looking forward to some fun outings with him this summer, but also just hanging out on the porch and eating popsicles.

Alright, time for bed..I just love summertime, the evenings in Colorado are absolutely perfect, the weather, no bugs, beautiful skies, mountians, trees, grass, smells...it is great!

It has been a long hiatus

Just wanting to be at Lake Powell right now..and cannot believe this was 2 years ago..

This was at Easter, so my belly has grown a lot since there, I will post an updated one once I download some more!

I honestly cannot believe I have not blogged for 7 months and now I am one month away to giving birth to our sweet baby girl! My plate has been full and I admit I have done more updating and posting of pics on FB, but would like to start blogging again, it is so much more personal.

Jonas turned 2 in April and he amazes us everyday with how fast he is learning to communicate and understand the world around him..we think he may be a bit advanced!!! He knows how to count to 10, spell almost all of his name, say the ABC song and sing other nursery rhymes and much more..I will save another post for potty training! He LOVES to run everywhere and is an active little boy, which he has been since he was born. I am hoping this little girl may be just a tad bit more laid back..but will take whatever God believes I can handle!

I am in full nesting mode, with a complete feeling of anxiety..trying to get it all done before she gets her, including organizing my entire house. I decided I needed to come to reality and focus on what "really" needs to be done. My sweet aunts and mom have helped me pick out fabrics and sew all my bedding and curtains..now the painting begins. I will try to post some before/after pics and prego pics of me. This pregnancy has gone by fast and I have not taken nearly as many pics as I did with Jonas and I am definitely more ready for the pregnancy part to be over this time!!

Snow in October!!

We had like 2 feet of snow this week..crazy! I am not ready for the snow yet...although tomorrow will be in the 60's so I guess that is the good thing about living in Colorado!! Here are some pics of Jonas..he didn't have any boots yet, poor thing, but he still got to explore it a bit..he kept saying "snow..snow.." so cute!

Trip to the Bootheel

Matt has a picture taken in this same spot at Granddy Vic's house when he was Jonas's age
David and Shannon...love that they are my brother and sister in law..they are amazing

Matt and Jonas in front of Grandaddy Vic's house one last time

I couldn't figure out how to delete this one

Sweet Aunt Bev and Uncle Britt we got to stay with them

Jonas and his new buddy Bear

I was so happy I got to visit with Amanda for awhile, I miss her tons and tons..I do wish I could have seen the other Nashville girls

Adams and Burcham..need I say more!

We made a trip down to Nashville and then drove to Kennett, MO this past weekend for Matt's grandaddy's funeral. It was a bittersweet trip..it was so wonderful to be able to spend time away from the hustle and bustle of life and get to be with family. We made some wonderful memories and all received some furniture from Vic's house for our own homes..it smells a bit musty..and ideas how to remove that? Anyways, it was the last time we would be at Vic's house..and I know that was hard for Matt..he had such wonderful memories of visiting there.. It just makes you feel as though you are saying goodbye to a part of your childhood. We also got to stay with Matt's Aunt and Uncle..Bev and Britt..whom we adore and have some quality time with them..we saw Mama and Papa and other aunts and uncles.

We also got to play with this huge dog..Bear..that Jonas loved!! He was such a trooper on our trip down..he did great! We also got to see one of my bestest friends from college..and our boys our 2 months apart and got to meet for the first time..friends forever! And..it was fun seeing Brent. I do wish I could have seen the other Nashville girls, but we weren't there very long..next time!

There is something comforting and more relaxing about the south..I love that our heritage is there and want to keep going back as long as we can...maybe someday we will move.. who knows..

It has been a rough couple of months

I feel as life has been a bit challenging the past couple of months, but that it is teaching me the true meaning of life and what is most important..our relationships..with God, family and friends. In August, my Papa Leo passed away at the young age of 81..what a void he has left in my life and those that have known him..he truly was a man that was so passionate about God and teaching others about him. Then, in October, Matt's grandaddy Vic, age 93 passed away..another void will be left,,he was so special to Matt growing up..and I know he will miss him as will I.he was a very influential man and he also believed and showed LOVE...he finally got baptized at the age of 92..hallelujah!

I know the death of our two grandaddy's has really changed my perspective... I am such a worrier in life and realize how much time that I waste by being anxious and worrying and I am really trying to not do it anymore and to give over the control and trust God so that I can enjoy my time and do what God intends me to do...

Just a few pics from the funeral

Our little Sumo wrestler

Ha! Jonas has very thick hair and it is curly...I LOVE it and am holding off on cutting it as long as I can. I came home Saturday and this is how I found little Jonas..his daddy put his hair in a ponytail..but he says it was more of a sumo wrestler look! Ha,..he kind of looked like a little girl.. Of course, his shirt is all covered in mud and food..but oh well, that is what happens when you are a kid!!
