9-1-1! Call The Ambulance!

Well, for those of you who do not know - we did have to call an ambulance last week.
While Dave was attempting to make holes in a plastic top for a caterpillar house he missed and shoved a "Leatherman" knife all the way through his middle finger. The knife came out the bottom and let me just say this - I knew head wounds bled badly but I had no idea finger wounds do too! Well, I realized quickly that we had an emergency on our hands when I came from the kitchen with a rag so that I could put a turnicate on it and stop the bleeding. Dave would not let go of his fingers - he had them all PRESSED together with a death grip! I finally convinced him to let go and I tied a rag around the first and middle fingers. The blood kept dripping in huge drips out of his finger.
In the meantime - Dave was quickly fading on me - he went from saying to me (bent over) "honey I think you're going to have to take me somewhere to.....Oh my gosh - I feel like I'm gonna pass out - call an ambulance!" - (on the floor and leaning to one side).
I did just that - I called 9-1-1 because it was clear to me that he WAS passing out. Josh was home with me and he was crying and frantic!!! I asked him to get the phone for me and I continued to try and fan Dave to keep him from passing out and talking to him about breathing and calming down.
Within a minute of being on the phone with 9-1-1 and giving her a quick run down of what I was dealing with and our address - DAVE WAS OUT! He was passed out!
I told the 9-1-1 Operator that he passed out and she said to me "Don't take your eyes off of him and say his name loudly and clearly and continue to fan him."
I got Josh calmed to the point that he could help me fan his Dad and I went on to say Dave's name and he finally came to - that's such a spooky process! His eyes were rolling around and he was slurring his words! SPOOKY!
Well, above are the pictures from the whole event and because Blogger has decided to act up I can't actually see the pictures and the order I have uploaded them so you'll have to decifer them yourself :))
The ones without stitches are obviously at the hospital before the doc stitched him up and then the ones with the stitches are from here at our kitchen sink when I was helping him clean it and put the dressing back on it.

Our Sweet Heather Turns 17!!!!!
HAPPY 17th BIRTHDAY HEATHER!
Wow - hard to believe our little girl is turning 17 this year! How many times have you heard parents say that about their children? I have heard it a million times but as Heather quickly approaches adulthood it becomes clear to me that it's hard to believe. When you really let it soak in that when you find yourself saying just that - "it's hard to believe"
Heather wanted a simple birthday this year after having a very FUN 16th birthday in Florida last year. We cooked steak on the grill and invited her best friend Nikki to join us. She asked for money toward the car she's saving for. She and Nikki also had a trip planned to Alabama in just two days after her birthday.

Happy Birthday Heather - my big CHEESE!

This picture is always fun to take. One day these two may not even live in the same city to get a birthday picture together so these are priceless to me!

Lord have mercy - these two are crazy together! Truly a sisterhood relationship!

Random Pictures and Stuff...
Okay so let's face it - time goes by, things take place and I snap pictures and don't share them right away. Then, I find myself wanting to share them and they all are still in the camera. When I finally download them I have some random events that are all lumped together. So, here they are...
RON AND JAEYLYN VISIT...

I'm sharing this upclose picture of Josh so that you can see one of his biggest challenges in 4th grade, other than his teacher. The boy pictured to Josh's left is Dillan. Dillan is a constant annoyance to Josh. Dillan likes to press people's buttons and push people to the point of exploding. Dillan is the class clown along with the class bully it just depends on what mood Dillian is in each day. How ironic that Josh would have to stand right next to Dillan. I told Josh - God has a sense of humor and will continue to teach us patience by surrounding us with people we must be patient with!
MARCH BUNCO NIGHT...
I hosted BUNCO this month. I used a St. Patrick's Day/Spring Theme.
My dear friend Lisa was our Sub and I thought we got a picture of her in her HUGE Dr. Suess type Green hat but I didn't have it on my camera when I downloaded. It was great to have Lisa with us - everyone loved her.
Oh My!!! Here's some of the food for the night! YUM! In this picture, I hadn't even put out the Mozarella bites - they were gone in a flash!
Here's some of the Cheer for the night -it was gone quickly. These girls love a glass of wine!
Hmm...well this is my professional friend Gwen. Hahahah! Being ornry, of course when you're trying to take her picture. She rolled BUNCO and got to wear the Bunco Crown. Nice picture taking Ms. Heather!
This is the Bunco Crown - perfect colors for my St. Patrick's Day Theme!
RON AND JAEYLYN VISIT...
Here's Jaelyn and Elise (our neighbor across the street) playing grocery store. This is one of Heather's old toys that I went up into the walk in attic and grabbed when I could see that the girls (who are the same age) wanted to play together but didn't know what to do. Dolls and shopping are always safe when it comes to girls - so there you have it!
So, I whipped out the store and they shopped and took care of their babies together.
This allowed Ron a much needed break to hang out with David. Ron is a single parent and loves his little girl very much but loves to come by for a visit so that we can all catch up.
RANDOM - MAYBE A SIGN OF THE TIMES????....
This is Josh's big toe! This is Josh's big toe that always seems to be sticking out of his socks! Hahahaah! DAILY! We cannot keep Josh's socks around here without holes in them. I think he must have razor sharp toe nails or something!
Well, maybe not cause he can't seem to keep his whole foot in the sock without holes! This is a standing joke around here - I am constantly throwing socks away because they have holes in them. The funny thing is - he will get them out of his drawer and wear them before I can throw them out -I had to fight him for these pictures cause he truly doesn't mind the holes - we think it's funny!
A sign of the times? You would think we couldn't afford good socks or something - no we just have a son that is okay with wearing holy socks!
THE 4TH GRADE MUSIC PERFORMANCE...
Josh's entire 4th Grade class did a musical performance at school for us parents the other night. This is Ms. Hines, Josh's Music Teacher. She's introducing the children. Josh is pictured directly behind Ms. Hines. The Children were told to wear Red, White or Blue shirts.

Here they are in motion. Notice John to Josh's right in the burgundy shirt. John is in Josh's class and quite a character. It seems from this picture that he's lost his place and is looking to see what motion to do next. Pretty funny!

That's all the random pictures I have for right now other than Heather's 17th Birthday pictures. I'll share them in a separate posting!

Ignore What They Said....
I just had to share this - it's a recent post from my Pastor about how others can influence what you're doing or want to do, what you believe in for your family, your children, your passions in life etc. I couldn't help but hear this clearly as I read it.
I am ME and God has designed me to do something GREAT for Him, as He has all of us. Now, I can choose to move away from what I believe God has chosen me for or stay close to Him and continue in what I am doing. I have many friends and family members that I love dearly - some I stay in touch with more often than others but at times I find myself hearing a "crushing response" so to speak. Something they say will make me rethink what I'm doing or what I'm passionate about because that particular person doesn't truly understand ME and what God has asked me to do. That doesn't make them a bad influence necessarily but they can surely crush a dream, steal joy and dampen my motivation if I continue to listen to them and believe what they say. So, I love this post by Pastor Furtick cause it's true - IGNORE WHAT THEY SAID because if GOD said - that is WHAT SHOULD BE SAID!
Go chase your dreams, fulfill your life's purpose and don't let anyone steer you off that path!
Here's the link to Pastor Furtick's Post - it's worth a minute to read, it's short but clear!

More Snow - in March!?
Who ordered this snow?
I definitely took this picture from INSIDE!
BRrrrrr - too cold for me!
Josh and Dave constructing their masterpiece!
Josh is so proud!
He was resourceful too - he used shriveled up grapes for the mouth and eyes and a carrot for the nose and a Nascar hat that's not his favorite!
Missi says: "Why do they call my name but then when I move they tell me to sit my butt back down on this cold snow? Oh, I get it, I'm suppose to sit here and smile for the picture with Josh."
Basketball Season Is Over :(
Another great season with SOAR SPORTS. We had the end of year party this past weekend and the boys got their trophies. Josh has improved so much since the first season he played. We know he loves the sport and we hope he'll stick with it. His coach (Coach Chip on left) said some of the nicest things about Josh. He told Josh that he had a natural ability to play and that when they practiced something at practice Josh always used it in the game. I couldn't help but laugh cause he has those Weirich genes - they are all athletes with natural ability!
