This website is a growing collection of information that I find helpful in facing the challenge of rising levels of ionizing radiation in my environment in Portland, Oregon, in the USA. I present well researched information that I believe is credible. The emphasis is on empowering solutions. I intend to inspire hope. I hope you will find it helpful, too.
Radiation levels in Portland are over 3 times what they were before Fukushima. One person whom I trust was measuring radiation in Portland before the earthquake and tsunami damaged the Fukushima Daichi nuclear power plant. She measured an average of 8 CPM. She now measures an average of 30 CPM. I measure an average of 26 CPM with my Inspector Alert Geiger counter, at my home in outer SE Portland, near Powell Butte, indoors, at an elevation of 200 feet.
I believe there is no safe dose of ionizing radiation. Dr. John Gofman, Ph.D., M.D., leading researcher on the health effects of radiation, said in his book, Radiation and Human Health, “There is no safe dose of radiation since radiation is cumulative. Harm in the form of excess human cancer occurs at all doses of ionizing radiation, down to the lowest conceivable dose and dose rate.” I accept that statement as true, after deeply studying the issue. Here is a video of Dr. Gofman discussing the dangers of even low doses of radiation:

You can find further information about Dr. John Gofman by clicking on the link “Dr. John Gofman, M.D.: Wikipedia article,” in “Links – No Safe Dose of Ionizing Radiation” in the sidebar to the right. Dr. Ernest Sternglass elaborates on the findings of Dr. John Gofman in a series of videos that you can access in “Links – No Safe Dose of Ionizing Radiation” in the sidebar to the right.
I am sharing with you the best information I have found so far about how to protect yourself from radiation……starting with your body, and eventually I will add more about your water, your food, your garden, your mind, your heart and your soul.
I will add information as I find it. It is a work in progress.
I was inspired to begin this website on Christmas Eve of 2013, after talking with a sweet, kind, helpful, highly intelligent young man who had grown up downstream from the Hanford Reservation in Washington State. The Hanford Reservation is the most radioactive place on earth. He did not know about the health hazards of Hanford. He swam every weekend, all summer, for 19 years, starting in 1990, in the Columbia River, the most radioactive body of water in the world, downstream from Hanford, without knowing the dangers. I shared with him all the information that I could remember and share in a short period of time, but I knew there was a lot more that was left out. He was so sincerely, deeply grateful, and I was so touched, that I decided then and there to create an organized collection of the best material I have found to refer such people to.
I am not an expert. I have no formal training in this field. What I present is what, in my opinion, is the most helpful material that I have found so far.
Take what you like and leave the rest. I am not here to debate over this. I will only post comments which I believe add to the pool of solid constructive information.
This website is not the place for fomenting fear.
I have deep faith that we will survive this and learn lessons to improve our way of life on Mother Earth.
Be safe. Be well.
