Talent Show - Shel Silverstein's I asked a Zebra a question

Let us not pay any attention to the last time I posted and focus on how great this video of Ez is.

Ezra and Grandpa Riedl at the school talent show. The kids in Ezra's school organized this event to raise money for Haiti. The kids at the end of the video are classmates of his. The girls that hug him had just performed a 4 year old "ballet". Stay tuned till the last second where his classmate Sabin tackles him with a loud hug. So funny.

Reminder that Jim is the principal of his school and everyone loves him and is very sad that he will be retiring in a few months.

Things I love...

My boy, Fall, pumkins, and Halloween but mostly my boy. He's so much fun every day.

Family Portrait of Scarecrows

This was a lot of fun but if you ever decide to make a scarecrow or a scarecrow family double the time that you think it will take :)

Matt and Ezra dug the holes, Matt built the stakes and I dressed and stuffed. Lots of people drove by and would slow down and yell that it looked great. We are hoping they don't get swiped before Halloween, we would hate for all of our hard work to be taken. My sign is a piece of driftwood I found this summer on the Columbia River and thought how great of a sign holder that would make for Halloween. I packed it in my trunk and tied it down to get it home. When Matt saw it hanging out of my trunk when I got home, he said, You've got to be kidding me! But, he came around. It's so much fun to see my dumb ideas come together, and it was so much fun to have Matt get excited about my ideas and make them even better. He's finally getting into Halloween as much as Ezra and myself are. Stay tuned for a little pig, a big bad wolf and a brick house.

Ezra's first Halloween Party

Matt's work had a Halloween Party and Matt was thoughtful enough to let us know 20 minutes before it started. He's so lucky I love spontaneity. Ez had a caterpillar costume so we threw it in the car and went, there were so many people there and it was so hot but Ezra got candy so he sure didn't care. The back butt of the caterpillar was the best part of the night, when he walked it waddled and it was so funny. He won a prize from the wheel of fortune game, it was a skeleton t-shirt and he liked it. He was fascinated by the scary costumes some kids had on. Wolves and Skeletons, he couldn't quit staring.

Ezra's first field trip

Ezra's first field trip to the pumpkin patch with his class. He got to ride on a school bus for the first time and Matt got to be a chaperone. Matt said that he kept asking the kids to raise their hands if they wanted to do stuff. Like raise your hand if you're excited to get a pumpkin. And they'd all yell, I am in unison. He said that all of the other parents were looking at him like he was weird and then they started joining in. Each kid got to take a pumpkin home but the rule was they had to be able to carry it.
