Our Arizona Trip

Image
I realize this is "old news" but I got some good pictures of our Memorial Day trip to Tucson that I wanted to share. It was Marie's first plane trip and any out-of-town trip for that matter and she did G-r-r- rreat ! She nursed during take off and landing and slept the entire rest of the way there. The third pic is from the way back - she did basically the same thing on the way home except cooed for a little while and flirted with the people behind us. The only snafu was a blow out after landing. Luckily, there was a family restroom very close to the gate we landed at. In Tucson, we were greeted at the airport by her cousins (Brittney, Kailee & Brandon), her aunts and uncle (Carrie, Mike & Kim) and her Nana. Despite being the entire center of attention and surrounded by almost all new people, she didn't fuss a bit - not even when Brandon gave her a kiss. She met 21 new people in a span of three days, including pictures of the following: my dad, Grama Lyd ...

Marie has friends!

Well since it has been a months since posted, I figured I would do two in one night! The next post after this will be our trip to Arizona and will really try to get that done tomorrow or at least before we leave town for Charleston (and Marie's first beach trip)! After two fussy days and a long fussy morning, Marie is finally back to herself! While I write this at my desk though, she is happily at work in her desk as well: I don't know if it was the 4 shots she got on Thursday, the upset stomach she had or "wonder week" #19 but whatever it was, it took a toll on her (and me). She weighed in at just over 16 pounds and is 25 1/4 long! 90% for weight and 80% for height. On Friday, I had a friend come over who has a little girl six weeks younger than Marie named Alyssa. She was quite talkative and Marie got all shy (although you wouldn't guess it by this picture). Now that I think about it, Marie was a little shy around Ellie Adams too (my good friend Brooke's ...

What I (Marie) have been up to the last few weeks

When my daddy went to Miami for a firm retreat, I wore a special outfit the day he left in honor of Florida. I'm practicing my folklorico dancing. (Just in case you don't know what folklorico dancing is check out some clips of "my daddy's people" (as Christy might say) on YouTube : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A3eyM3uIv28&feature=related or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cuCSj4W_3q4&feature=related ) My Nana and Papa had a stop over in Atlanta on their way home from New York so they came to visit me. I am pretty irresistible that way. We had fun together. Nana does this thing with her fingers that I thought was really funny (see the video). Mom bought this onesie for me before she even knew I was a girl! Good thing I am, and I like pink. She thought it was funny; I don't get it - of course you shouldn't put baby in the corner. I think this is the last time I will get to wear it though. I'm a big, growing girl (16 lbs to be exact). For...
