Welcoming Little Miss Scarlette Cindy Severtson

Amy gave us quite the wonderful surprise this Sunday...we had just seen Amy, Porter & the kids on Saturday evening where Amy said she thought little miss Scarlette would be arriving in a few more days or for sure by the following week, so it caught me off-guard when during the closing prayer of Elders Quorum at 12:30pm I felt my phone vibrating that I was receiving a phone call.  I figured it was just a telemarketer or some other annoying unsolicited call, but as soon as Amen was said, I pulled it from my pocket to see it was Porter calling.  I answered it and it was Porter saying that Amy thought it was time and he was running her to the hospital.  I asked if there was anything we could do, to which he answered there wasn't, that he was dropping the kids off at Amy's parents which was on the way.  This was exciting news, but got even more exciting while I was sitting in ward council meeting barely one hour later when Porter texted the very first pictures of our precious little Scarlette Cindy.  From what I understand, just after I hung up with Porter, Scarlette decided she was coming, so rather than dropping off the kids, Amy's parents met them at the hospital while Amy & Porter went into the delivery room and Scarlette came moments later!

Scarlette Cindy marks our #8 grandchild and she has a very special place in my heard with her middle name meaning so much to me.  We already love this little girl to death and can't get enough of her...I already can't wait to hold her again! Welcome to our big crazy family Scarlette Cindy...we love you!

Hangin' With the Grandkids

Another Saturday evening together with the grandkids while parents go out!  This time it was baking and juicing lemons for Lemonade! Little Violet loves Nana's cleaning stuff and is satisfied just playing with them, while little miss Emi just loves bringing her brightness to everyone occasion with her big smiles. We had a great time!

Happy Birthday Noah

Noah broke from his Texas Roadhouse birthday dinner tradition this year and chose Oregano's instead.  We celebrated his birthday just a little-bit later this year now that he's living in Utah, but we were glad to have him home for the Christmas and get to spend some time alone with him hearing about his new life up there.  We sure love you Noah and are proud to see the adventures of life you are making for yourself!  Happy Birthday!

Sevark Christmas 2023

Another Christmas come and gone...our early morning home Christmas keeps getting smaller and smaller (only Maizey, Noah & Jonah home this year), while our Sevark family Christmas gets larger and larger with each kid that gets married and grandkids we welcome into the family almost every year.  This year after opening presents at each of our home, then as usual everyone came over for more presents and breakfast as has become our tradition.  James got legos this year and enjoyed putting them together with the "big boys"!  Afterwards we drove to the cemetery to remember Rod & Cindy, then over for a quick visit to Grandma Porter with a last stop in East Mesa on the way home to remember Grandpa Glasgow.  What a wonderful and reverent way to remember the greatest gift of Christmas, that of our Savior who made it possible for families to be together forever!

Severtson Family Christmas Eve Party

As has been the tradition of the Severtson family, for as long as I can remember, we celebrated Christmas Eve altogether with a nice dinner "Pizza & Wings" which has been added the last few years, then followed by a special visitor, and opening presents from Grandma & Grandpa Severtson!  We had a packed house this evening of all the uncles, aunts and cousins.  It was a wonderful evening as it always is...

Mesa Temple Lights

This evening, most of us met at the Mesa Temple to see the Christmas lights all together with the grandkids!  Keep up with the grandkids is the hard part, but luckily Kami & Tim had their wagon which we were able to get most of them into and I had Emi on my shoulders.  We had a fun time walking around and seeing everything as a family!

Gingerbread House Night

Lexine always likes to have an evening before Christmas for the kids to come over for dinner then make gingerbread houses for dessert -- so that's what tonight was.  As you can see, everyone had a great time!  The girls' in the family also chose tonight as their Sister Gift Exchange, so all of them (+Caleb 😂) enjoyed opening their gifts to one another.  It was another wonderful evening altogether with our big crazy family!

Sadie's MCO Christmas Choir

This evening many of us attended the MCO concert which my Sadie-girl was performing in.  As typical Sadie style, she gave us a little dancing and arm movements in addition to her singing which was helpful in spotting her.  She did great and the choir was amazing as always -- Brother Brandon Stewart who makes it all happen is in our ward.  It was an awesome evening with several of us there to support Sadie!
