Almost a year...

Yes, I know it's been almost a year since I have blogged. Thought I would give it another go. We are still alive. Catherine is still eating chicken nuggets! Haha! She started mothers day out at trinity this fall. It has been so good for her. We have really enjoyed it. We are now in the throws of potty training. Things have been going well. We just went to Walmart and got 2 bouncy balls for staying dry all week.

The big thing we have going on is that baby boy Williams will be here one month from tomorrow. I can't believe how fast this pregnancy has gone. His nursery still isn't ready, but I hope we can get some more work done this weekend. We can't wait for him to get here. I guess that's it for now. We jut got a new iPad, so if y'all have an app you like to use to blog, please let me know.

Food for a Toddler

For the 2 people that read this, I need some help. Catherine has been eating chicken and fries for a long time. But she has recently started to not want that. Or I have to bribe her to eat the chicken. We tried grilled cheese and spaghetti.. nothing. I need some suggestions. She is a great eater when she "likes" it. So I just have to convince her she likes other stuff. I would really appreciate any advice you can give me.

Go Dawgs!

Well, these were going to be a surprise for Gerry's birthday which is Monday, but he kept pestering me about what I was getting him. So, I finally told him. I had our friend David take some pictures of Catherine at the Tech Football field. I was nervous going into it because Catherine refused to nap that day. Of course, the day we have plans she doesn't nap. But she had a ball. There were some players training for Pro Day and they thought she was really cute. I let Gerry pick his favorite and we ordered a canvas print of it last night. So, here are just a few. It was hard to pick my favorites. And check out those curls! We have a curly top on our hands!

She got to love on the bulldog!

She really enjoyed pushing the ball around the field, but got a workout.
We can't go anywhere without our baby. And no, she doesn't need a real one to play with!

This is our favorite. I love how bright the blue is. I can't wait for it to come in.

Too soon to potty train??

After we finished lunch today, Gerry and Catherine were watching Mickey Mouse while I was folding clothes. Glamorous afternoon huh? So, I thought Catherine was making a present for us in her diaper, and she turns to Gerry and said "I stink." And she did! So, any suggestions on potty training would be greatly appreciate. I didn't think she would be able to tell us so soon. And because this is one of my favorite pictures from Christmas, here is Catherine showing her excitement about what Santa brought her!

18 months

We had Catherine's 18 month appointment this week. She was only getting one shot, so I told Gerry I could do it by myself. Bad idea!
Weight: 27 lbs 1 oz
Height: 33 inches

The doctor was very happy with her speech. Amy wrote a list of all the words and it was a lot. During her physical exam, the doctor noticed her soft spot was still open( about the size of a dime). Which evidently is not good , so to the lab we went for blood work to check her thyroid levels. Let me tell you how much fun that was?? Can you sense the sarcasm? Everything turned out fine. She is absolutely perfect, which we already knew. Haha! Love her. This picture was the night before the doctor. I went to the kitchen to start her dinner and this is what I found when I came back. Glenda tells me that this is like what Gerry used to do. Awesome! She put the booster seat up there and climbed in it. She is a monkey! I can't believe she is 18 months old. Time is moving too fast. I am working on her 2nd birthday party. Sooooo fun!

Does it get any better

Than a girl and her papaw. I don't think so! Here is Catherine with papaw at Temple's Christmas Eve Service. We love him!! And that's her Grumpy next to them. And yes that's what she calls him. I would always ask Jackie how he was and he would say grumpy. So it's stuck! I love it!

Merry Christmas

I wanted to update before the wonderful craziness begins. Tomorrow we have Christmas with my family and Gerry's Mom's family. On Sunday, we have Gerry's cousins from Minden. And then on Monday, we have Christmas with Gerry's Dad. Should be a fun 3 days. I don't think Catherine will be complaining. She gets to open presents 3 days in a row. She is down for the night, and now we are waiting for Santa to come see us. I hope we are all on the Nice list. Christmas is so much fun! Eating too much, being with family, playing outside...the list could go on forever. But I hope that we can show Catherine that even though that is all fun, that is not the reason we celebrate Christmas. It is so easy to get caught up in the hussle and bussle, that's right, I just said hussle and bussle. :) But the reason we celebrate this day is because of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. Let us celebrate the birth of Jesus today! Happy Birthday Jesus!
